For those few interested or who didn't check current status after Thurs. games...Idaho beat Montana 92-87 in 2 OTs...UNC beat SUU by 10...meaning current status for Wildcats is 8th place (& last spot to BSC tourney) with T-birds a full game behind ..and, oh, Eastern Washington handled Montana St by 24 pts...

I watched the Idaho vs. Montana game. The played it in their small gym instead of the football stadium. There were so many lines on the floor it was really confusing and feed was horrible. Not Montana State bad but pretty bad. I wonder why they switch between arenas?

The Jazz festival is this weekend. It's kind of like ISU's situation -- we get kicked out of Holt during the season by the Ag Show (which, ironically, is hosted by the U of I), the Simplot Games and the state wrestling meet on occasion.

I like Reed far better than the Idaho back up venue. That was a terrible place to play. I thought that Idaho got approved to build a basketball arena. Did that get shot down?

By the way...nice seeing Idaho beat the Grizz. But while watching Idaho's offense, from that vantage point, it drove me nuts. I hate that offense and then it dawned on me, holy crap, that is exactly like our offense. No motion, jacking up a lot of 3's and driving. If the guys actually move the offense is great, but Idaho mostly sat around like our guys do (i.e. HILL). It was very hard to watch.

Idaho has approval to start raising money for a new arena. They are planning a six month "leadership phase" of trying to raise $15 M in big hitter donations, followed by a public campaign to raise another $15 from the great unwashed. That can take m-a-n-y years. Typically the strategy is get the $15 M "lead donations," get the board to give you approval to start design and construction, then worry about raising the rest later. Just put it on the credit card. ;-)

There are a few other BSC schools that need to watch closely what UI is doing. If they can get it done in that small town, there is NOOOOOOO reason that some of the larger cities can't get it done as well. :coffee:

One problem we have out here is you probably couldn't get the EIR done for $30 million. By the time every environmental group has it's say it would run the cost up to over 100 million......politics are absolutely ridiculous out here......you guys definitely have a BIG edge over us in the government staying out of the way category.....

Huge loss by EWU, hosting UM today. In all likelihood, the best EWU can do is tie UM in the standings-- not sure about the tie-breaker, each has won on the other's floor. It's looking like Sac controls it's own destiny in their final three.

It's Sacramento State's 1st place standing to lose now...they lead one half game after beating PSU tonight. Can the T-birds spoil it for them next Thurs.?

We still need 1 win to clinch hosting the tournament.....hope we can get that on Thursday so we don't have to sweat Saturday.....it's been a great year for us no matter

Jon @BigSkyBasketball brings up an interesting speculation that IF Sac St wins Thurs vs SUU and Weber St. wins vs Idaho then the scenario of the Hornets playing Wildcats in the first game of the tourney (#1 vs #8) is set! Edited out my earlier question about the bye for 1st place team...with 8 teams in, the math doesn't work to have a bye.

So there isn't a bye given the # 1 team in the BSC tourney this year?? :coffee:

I guess that would mean we finally get that "home" game this season against you guys after all....I'm hoping that is the way it happens...
