BSC Opener vs Weber State

Finished the pre-conference schedule today with an 82-65 loss to #15 UCONN. EAGS are 5-6 on the season. Not an early win/loss record to be pleased with. However, this has been a difficult early schedule that I think will pay dividends as we move into the BSC schedule. I think the team is going to make a good run in conference play. This team will not play anyone in the BSC comparable to Seton Hall and UCONN.

A couple things I have noticed the last four games. We need to protect the ball better and handle pressure against good defenses. Need to get back on D in transition and not give up easy buckets. Of course, need to convert free throws better.

We start conference play on January 2nd vs Weber State the preseason pick for conference champion. So, we are going to get an early indication of how we match up with the top of the conference.

GOEAGS!

They have always been terrible....EWU got it down to three then stepped on a land mine and blew themselves up.

WEEBS arena always looks so tight on video. Never been there. Looks like a home court advantage.
The seating is round so the sidelines have a little room, actually more than it looks on Big Sky TV, but is tight on the corners. Kind of weird!

Anybody else find these Weber radio guys unprofessional? I mean really, "Take that Jim Hayford! Just kidding." Really??
Reminds me of Grandpa and the kid

Super frustrating. We crapped this game away.

Yes, I agree, but we had a chance against the best of the Big Sky at their house. We can hang with these guys now. I'm optimistic. :thumb:
Did we get out played or out coached?

I think just outplayed. Weber's athletes are still better than ours as a whole. :twocents: I think we are closing the gap though.

We forced up some poor shots early in the second half and they began to hit 3s. I wish we would have been a little more patient opening the second half. It was still a great effort. I don't believe it was coaching error. Hopefully this will motivate the team.

Coach Jim was pretty fired up tonight, wow he was pissed...

Eagles looked pretty good tonight, I picked them as the 3 seed on our site. Weber has a long way to go..

Anyone notice what Hayford does with his wrist, or hand in front of his mouth half of the game? His version of Tark chewing on a hand towel? Kinda weird.

Were you at the game? Was he upset with the his players or at the refs? Each coach has his quirks. lol At least we hit our free throws tonight. 3 seed would be an awesome finish. I think 4 or 5 would be more realistic. Behind WSU, UM, UNC and maybe UND. Here's hoping for 3. :thumb:

Yes I was there, Mostly his players. After Montana lost to NAU at home tonight, maybe EWU at 2, and at least a 3 seed IMO.
