Hornet pitcher Jennifer Hartman is the Big Sky Pitcher of the Week for last week. She went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA for the week. The Hornets were 4-1 on the week, including a double header split with Davis and a three-game sweep of Santa Clara. The Hornets have claimed three of the first four awards; Caitlin Brooks won for the weeks ending 12 FEB and 19 FEB. The freshperson Hartman won her first two collegiate games this week in impressive fashion. In 10.2 IP over a start and a long relief assignment, Hartman allowed 8 hits and 2 unearned runs. She whiffed four. Opposing batters hit .216 off her. Even more impressive is that with two out, the opposition was a woeful .091.

Hartman is now 2-1 on the year with a 0.84 ERA, allowing hits at a .203 clip.

The Hornets are now 8-5 on the year. Next up is five games over three days at a Cal Poly tournament 08-10 MAR (Rutgers/Nevada Fri, Cal Poly/Northern Illinois Sat, Cal Poly Sun). A eleven-game homestand (interrupted only by a one-game road trip to SJSU) follows, featuring games against TX State, cheap-shotting St. Mary's, Fresno State, Kansas (these four comprise the Capital Classic) and a three-game BSC-opening homestand against UNC, including a double header Fri 22 MAR. Following the two-day/two-game series with San Jose 26-27 MAR, the Hornets leave March and enter April with a game against Cal and a double header against Nevada.
