Tipoff about to start! We are 0-17 at the Marriott vs BYU and 0-2 vs other teams at the Marriott so 0-19!

Rahe thinks this is Rose's best BYU team thus far.

WSU will have a 9 man lineup tonight

Mahoney still out with injury

A small crowd on hand tonight by BYU standards says Arky

wsu down 23-11 with 10 min to go in the first half. Just 1 three has fallen so far (1-5).

a nice 2 hand dunk though by bull

WSU hangin in now shooting 50% making the last 8 of 11 shots.

Down 33-28

Session had a nice pick-pocket for a fast break dunk!

FT's be killin us like its gone this season byu 11-14, wsu 2-4

down 38-34 at the half, FT's are the big hurt right now as well to's

to's 10 for us 3 for them
ft's 6-8 compared to 14 of 18

panos has 3 fouls

we are shooting 42% , 37% for them

points in the paint 20 to 16

bench points 12 to 10

wsu 2-9 from down town

I was down at the game and thought that we were going to have a chance to pull it off.

Then BYU hit 6 of 7 3's in the last seven minutes or so. We just couldn't respond to those shots.

The cougar fans were none to happy when we got back in the game and took the lead with the 9-0 run just after half.

Our offensive rebounding got us back in the game in the first half. Our bench came on and gave us a spark by crashing the boards.

I don't have stats to back this up but I am guessing that a Randy Rahe team has not given up 80+ points and won too many times. We have to defend to win.

Post play was a big reason why we lost today and the weak effort of our two seniors. Panos played like a girl, does he not know how to finish, how hard is it to dunk a ball instead he goes for a layup and gets it swatted away by a guard. Pathetic. He shoots 0-5, 4 weak fouls in a lousy 9 minutes. Hansen our shooting guard got totally outplayed by our subs and again by the other teams shooting guard, 0-3, 2 fouls in 19 lusterless minutes, while Emery goes for 15 pts shooting 5-8.

I thought for the second game in a row Matt Washington played with desire, but more importantly played above the rim, something I haven't seen from Panos yet. Morris was slightly better than Panos on the offensive side, shooting 3-9, but on the defensive side he was aggressive, altered and blocked 2 shots. I would start Morris and bring Panos off the bench.

I was really disappointed with Panos last night. He had some good looks and could not finish anything. Hansen has disappointed me all year. If it were me, which it isn't, I would bring Hansen off the bench and start Hughey. I have been very impressed with the effort Hughey is giving.

Weber State because of three main reasons: 1. TO 18, 2. FT discrepency (32 for BYU with 28 makes and 19 for WSU with 13 makes...I sure hope a team can win if they make 15 more FT's) , 3. Post Play. Weber had a lot of buckets in the paint, but it wasn't from our Big Men.

Catcat, Weber State has indeed won in Provo and in the Marriott Center. During the first season of Coach Cravens (1999-2000 season). WSU played in the Cougar Classic. They beat Western Oregon 86-58. So in fact Weber State has won in Provo, just not yet against BYU. I don't like for people to think WSU is 0-19 in the Marriott. In fact WSU has played several Cougar Classics through out the years.

In the game the bigs weren't the issue. They played good against a very good, very big BYU team.

We out rebounded them and scored more points in the paint than them.

The issue was too many to's and allowed FTs.

and really to's you could say didn't cost us the game, points off of to's was about even.

allowing 33 ft's was killer.

last season the fans were trippin out on the 2 seniors after the byu game saying they weren't playing like seniors and leading the team and we went on to go 15-1 in conf.

i know most of us expected to be at least 3-2 right now at worst but we don't have a bad loss and we just need things to be in order for conf play, thats what matters most.

seattle beat utah and santa barbar is looking to be pretty good as well.

byu 5-0
usu 4-2
seattle 4-3
ucsb 3-0

opponent record 16-5

I know Steve had a bad game, but these things happen. Everyone is entitled to a bad game once in awhile. I think its better to look at the positives and to be supportive. He is a senior and a three year letter winner, he'll get back on track. He's had to play against some pretty good big men so far this season and for the most part has done a good job. He's a smart player, whos going through a funk right now. He'll be fine, and I'm sure we will be singing his praises eventually.

The season is young. Yes, we all want our Cats to be 5-0 right now. And in reality they could be. They haven't been blown out this season, and have been in every game. I was really proud of the CATs on friday. They were winning the game with 8 mins to go and it took a freaky run to beat us. A few BYU fans, and Coach Rose, acknowledged how good Weber is and want us to be successful. They know that game was a hell of a lot closer than what the final score indicated.

I think wsucatfan should shut the hell up.
The goal of the team is to win, as it stands right now the Wildcats play better with Morris and Hughley or Sessions on the floor instead of the Hansen and Panos. If the two seniors can get going, great, it makes us a deeper team, if not I have no problem bringing them off the bench.

1. Just like D. Davis it gives the 2nd unit leadership and someone to pick up the slack when the starters are sitting.
2. They should have the advantage against the other team's 2nd string.
