BYU Schedules Northern Iowa

Didn't the MWC whine about the WAC scheduling cream puff teams in order to go undefeated and ultimately go to a big BCS bowl game? It seems like the WAC has discovered the map to BSC bowl games and now other conferences will follow it.

Northern Iowa is no cream puff. If BYU wanted a gimme, they would have scheduled another Big Sky team. (They pounded Eastern Washington last year).

Gotta disagree with you there, Tuff. Northern Iowa was 12-1 and beat Iowa State in Ames last year. EWU was a good team, but certainly not in the same league as Northern Iowa. The Big Sky is usually in the middle of the 1-AA leagues, with Montana occasionally good enough to compete on a national level. EWU was a developing team last year and probably will be picked to win the Big Sky this coming year, although they will be breaking in a new coaching staff and have to replace four of their five starters on the offensive line.

For my money, the best 1-AA team I saw last year was Cal Poly, and they will have most everyone back next year.
