Here's the recap of last year's game. Viks were able to win without Dominguez, but Poly's leading scorer was ineffective.

I should have the preview of Wednesday's game up some time in the afternoon-evening.

It should be an easy win for the Viks if they can make free throws and major contributors do their jobs.

If Cal Poly is losing to Seattle, then I'm confident for this game.

More interestingly, am I seeing things or is there "snow" on your preview page?

There is snow. Probably done by Chris. Kinda cool.

As to the performance versus Lewis & Clark, keep in mind that Waters only had 5 points, Nelson was sick, and Dominguez didn't play. I'm sure that the coaches will jump on those who played down in game prep. It happened last year in a few games, and they cut it off. After the L & C game, the Viks kept it close against Wazzu. After the awful home loss to San Jose State, the Viks won by 25 against Sac. I think Bone, Geving & Co. do a solid job of helping their team get up for games. I understand your skepticism, and we'll just have to wait till Wednesday to see what happens.

Don't get me wrong. As a total Viking fan, I just tend to hedge a bit. I am hoping the Viks put the pedal to the metal and start humming. As a comparison though, last year's Sac State was awful.

This is a must win before we hit the road to Spokane.....Well we do play that team from Missoula first, but after what happened last season I think we will at the very least have quite the psychological advantage, don't know if I will ever forget that score(108-56)

Vikings: Coach Bone considers a change

If a change is made I would move Mara into the starting lineup for Coston.Better rebounder imo and passer.

Change can always throw a team off, but the thought of Jones or Nelson going up against another team's bench could really mix it up a bit. Other teams may be forced to push the minutes of a couple of their starters or maybe get other teams into foul trouble.

On the flip side, I really don't like seeing the lineup changed up as we're about to play our first conference game.

Listen to the game on the radio. I had a bad feeling about this game, didn't help when Hewitt said, "this is a team the Vikings should win." Jones and Coston just had terrible games. The Viks must come out strong against Montana on Saturday and win our first conference game. A game like this just drives me crazy! Come on Viks!

PSU drops game at Cal Poly

Im actually pissed off...... These guys are way to stacked to be losing to poly... These are the things that will hurt them in the long run when it comes tourney time like it did last year! Im clearly disappointed!

The inconsistency is unacceptable for a team comprised of veterans. I hope those of you who can get to the Stott and make it loud. PSU should win by 20. Will they?

Does anybody know if it is possible to get plus/minus stats for college games? I'd love to see some stats on PSU's most effective lineups. When the Viks have really clicked this year, it seems like Nelson and Murray have always been involved. I'd like to think that when PSU puts its five best players (Nelson, JD, Waters, Jones, Murray) on the floor it can compete with anybody, but I know that isn't always the most effective approach.

Hey its a road game...you can't win em all.

Weber finished 2003 season ranked 30th in the nation and went 26-6.
(we lost to DII on the road in Alaska early on in a tournament)
