(02-15) 21:33 PST -- In one of the most puzzling football scheduling decisions in school history, Cal has agreed to play Presbyterian College of Clinton, S.C., on Sept. 17 at AT&T Park to fill one of the two vacancies on its 2011 slate.

Are you sure? Presby's been in the Big South for a while. Their probation might well be up by now.

There's no consensus about Presby's status at CS. Either they're a full D-I member this year, or they SHOULD have been, but for a quirk in filing transition plan paperwork with the NCAA. This may have resulted in the extension of the transition period by a whole year.

Apparently, the game apparently shows as TBD at the Cal website. The idea seems to be that Cal might buy it out if a "better" choice comes along.
