6-2 CG Caleb Nero from Tulsa Oklahoma has received an offer from Weber State and reportedly visited last weekend. He graduated last spring from high school (2017) after averaging 24.5, 4.5, and 4.5 and instead of going the NCAA route, spent the past season at Sunrise Academy Prep School. His high school coach said that Caleb was the best offensive player he had ever coached. That Caleb was a team first guy, who got his teammates involved and who won a lot of games during his tenure. His stock has definitely blown up this spring. He has received additional offers this week from Bradley and South Dakota, and last week from Missouri State and Irvine. He originally had offers from Wisconsin Milwaukee (signed with them last spring), University Tennessee Martin, and Missouri Kansas City. He can definitely score the ball in a number of ways, but one aspect of his game that I was really impressed with was his ability to pass the ball. He is creator on the court. He can create shots for others and for himself with his ball handling abilities. I'm sure, and wisely, he is going to take his allotted visits before declaring. However, Randy has a great average of players signing when they visit. Hope that average continues with Caleb.

I like the fact that he has been out of HS and away from home for a year. I'm sure it will make him a more mature player. In HS he was known as an outside shooter. He seems to have added more to his game in the past year. He has a nice midrange game and can get to the rim. I don't know a thing about his ability to defend, but that always seems to be an issue with incoming freshmen. I would expect that we will hear something from him in the next few weeks. He sounds like a kid who wants to make a good choice for his future.

Per the Tulsa paper, Nero will be a Wildcat

Welcome to Weber State, Caleb. I think this will be a great fit for you and WSU. I can hardly wait to see you play in person.

So with the addition of Caleb, who is the player leaving? Is Cody John fully healthy?
Last I heard, Cody is fully recovered and expected to play next fall. I expect some sort of atrition before July. I believe that is the deadline.
