Northern Arizona’s Cameron Jones has been selected the Big Sky Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week after leading the Lumberjacks to a must-win over the Sacramento State Hornets.
Jones, a 6-foot-4 sophomore guard from Los Angeles, scored a career-high 28 points in Northern Arizona’s 68-58 victory over Sacramento State in a game the Lumberjacks needed to win to keep their hopes alive for a berth in the Big Sky Conference postseason tournament.

Jones played just 19 minutes, hitting 10-of-14 shots from the floor, 3-of-6 from 3-point range and 5-of-7 from the free-throw line. He also added two rebounds, one steal and one assist.

Jones is enjoying a great sophomore campaign, ranking sixth in the league in scoring at 13.2 points per game. He’s fourth in 3-point field-goal percentage, seventh in field-goal percentage, and 10th in assist. In conference play, he’s averaging 17 points per game, which ranks third in the league. Jones has scored in double figures in 13 of his last 15 games. He’s scored at least 20 points in a game six times this season.

This is the first Player of the Week Honor for Jones.

This is a stud all the way around. Cam Jones is the future of NAU men's basketball. I love his agressiveness and ability to get to the basket. He has been one of the fery few bright spots for the team this year. Congrants Cameron, hope you have many more POTW in your next two years at NAU!
