Camp Glanville

I look forward to the show every Monday evening. This is the only clip from Camp Glanville that I can find on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSMxeGgKZaA

I think the show is quite horrible. Whenever I watch it, they are showing Andy Schantz eating, doing the dishes, or playing XBox.

Don't get me wrong, it's great that we have this show. In fact, I recently subscribed to cable and told the Comcast people that I was subscribing because of their PSU coverage.

Just a year old, Comcast SportsNet eyes a bigger future

This is the segment of the article about Camp Glanville:

A pair of cute puppies runs onto the Portland State football practice field, playing, tongues hanging out, and in all of the excitement one of them stops and squats.

Nothing like good TV, huh?

The cameraman shooting the reality series “Camp Glanville” for Comcast SportsNet swings his camera to the busy dog, who finishes the duty and rejoins the running mate. The dogs’ owner walks out onto the field with her plastic bag in hand, but she misses part of the mess. Fortunately, the receivers don’t run an out pattern near the spot.

Such are the highlights of “Camp Glanville,” which follows the on- and off-field lives of the Vikings. It’s one of the original programs done by the upstart sports network that launched Nov. 1. The show is produced by Momentum Studios of Portland. On it, the Vikings show off their personalities and behind-the-scenes lives, and, of course, PSU coach Jerry Glanville always keeps things entertaining.

I haven't seen more than two or three episodes of Camp Glanville, but I've found it pretty entertaining so far. I'd like to know how many games they plan to broadcast this year, and whether or not any of them will be called by local announcers. The way they showed the Montana game last year was nice, but I'll feel like PSU has really arrived when they can have their own local TV crew. When Comcast broadcasted UP soccer and basketball last year, I thought they did a really good job, all things considered.

Vikings love 'Camp Glanville' — or is it 'Camp Schantz?'
