As much as I hated to root for the Griz to beat UCD, this meltdown is worth the letdown.

Should we even care about Montana anymore?
I mean let's be honest, they're not a threat to anything we are trying to build or have built at EWU. They've been mostly irrelevant for almost a decade, and nothing they're doing right now as a program or a university leads me to believe they'll be a threat anytime again soon. Hell they hired a coach who is like 20-50 since he last left them.

I'm legit more concerned with MSU going forward as they have a decent coach and a good QB and some talent. I mean I know we've beat them a 100 times in a row... but they're the only program in the Big Sky that scares me in the long term.

UC Davis with Dan Hawkins. Not sure how long he’ll be there but they’ll be good as long as he’s around.

Jay Hill has been impressive turning Weber around too. I think they'll be hanging around at the top of the conference as long as he remains there as well.

We’ll see what Davis can do without a generational talent at QB and Wr, although they get Maier for one more year. I agree on Hill at Weber. I thought they would take a step back this year but they just keep building.

I'm with Palm Spring Eag. While I don't doubt for a minute that Hawkins is a great coach, Davis seems to be riding one of those nice waves of where everything is going right for a few seasons with having experience and talent at two of the most important positions in the league. Maybe they can build off it and sustain it, but that's hard to do in the FCS. I'm leaning towards more that this is a shot in the pan.

Either way, they’re taking advantage of their recent success. Last week, the university announced a new 40 million dollar construction project for a football practice facility.

I’m more convinced Davis would go FBS with even sniff of sustained success at this level. Their donors and alums, as a whole, don’t care about winning at this level.
