The nickname first boomed out of then-Idaho State offensive coordinator Mike Orthmann's throat during a practice last season: the Geico Caveman.
With running back Clint Knickrehm having sported all manner of facial hair — most prominently a full lumberjack beard — during his Bengals career, the moniker couldn't have fit him any better. It quickly spread, from one Bengal to the next until it landed even in head coach John Zamberlin's vocabulary.
