CBI or CIT?

Any shot we get a chance in one of these post season tourneys?

Typically for mid majors that were decent. Our record isn't great but considering our year last year and decent year this year, maybe we get an invite?

Looks like you guys are hosting Pepperdine in the CBI on March 16th. Congrats on the tournament invite and on bidding for a home game :)

Mar 16.... Albany at Ohio
Mar 15.... Morehead State @ Siena
Mar 16.... Nebraska Omaha @ Duquense
Mar 16.... Houston Baptist @ UNC Greensboro
Mar 16.... Montana @ Nevada
Mar 16.... Pepperdine @ Eastern Washington
Mar 16.... Idaho @ Seattle
Mar 16.... Western Carolina @ Vermont

How did we bid for a home game and the Grizzly didn't?!? I believe we had to put up $40k and it shocks me that we did and Montana didn't, wow!

Love the fact we get Pepperdine in Cheney, what a great game!

Can't wait for Wednesday night now...

Have to admit, I was a little surprised that we GET TO HOST Pepperdine. They are no joke. They beat St. Mary's two times this year. Beat BYU. And only lost to GU by 3. Don't get name brand schools in Cheney all that often. Wonder how many Pepperdine alum are in the area?

Should be a fun game!

go eags!

I've been wondering the same thing since the CBI bracket came out.

I'm happy for EWU that you guys get to host, don't get me wrong...but to see some of the other teams (like Seattle for example) who bid to host a game it makes me wonder WTF happened for the Griz... Did we just not even bother putting in the bid or was it something where we did bid but had to bid against Nevada (who draws more fans)?

Similar thing happened to Weber if I remember right a few years ago. They ended up having to travel and play @Oregon in the first round of the CBI for some reason while some other teams who didn't draw nearly as well or have as good of a season as Weber got to host.

That makes me think that it's possible they do the pairings first and THEN talk to the teams about bidding... Who knows... annoying though for Griz fans who would have loved to see the Griz get a home game in a tournament :(

Considering we played a sum total of ONE non-conference D1 team at home this year, I'd say our AD owed it to the team.

The worst part about that year, was Weber had put the money down to host a game and the CBI told Weber they would get a first round home game, only to turn around and give it to Oregon, I guarantee that is the last time Weber participates in that tournament, however I did quite enjoy that CIT run we had a few years ago, it's a shame we didn't win the Championship, but it was fun to watch Weber play teams like Oral Roberts, Air Force, Northern Iowa (teams that avoid us like the plague) and playing ECU for the championship in front of almost 11,000 fans in the Dee was amazing.

Anyway, good luck Eagles, BEAT PEPPERDINE
