Man who isnt excited for this game?

Its Rivalry week part 2 for Weber State as Southern Utah comes to Ogden, we are finally playing each other after 5 years, the game I have looked forward to the most since the schedule first came out.

The Thunderbirds come into the game at 3-4 overall and 0-3 Great West, on a 3 game losing streak.

The Wildcats come into the game 3-3 overall and 3-1 Big Sky, and coming off a win over rival Idaho State.

I think Weber's balanced offensive attack and surging defense will be too much for the Thunderbirds, in a great game and the start of a great new rivalry. Weber pulls away very late to win 38-24.

I look for a more balanced offense and hope the defense continues to show up. -1 yards rushing, 8 sacks by the D line, 2 blocked punts.... Was that a dream? Great team win.....GO CATS

They lost a close game this week and that basically ruined their chances for winning their conference and a bid to the playoffs - The Great West is not an automatic qualifier for the playoffs. To get into the playoffs from a non-AQ conference, they must be ranked 16th or higher in the country, have at least 7 wins, and have 2 wins against DI opponents from AQ conferences. Thus, the chances are slim to none (and slim just left the building).
So... The question is will So U give up for the year? They have no realistic chance of making the playoffs, no realistic chance of winning their conference, etc...
They could see this is their big game of the year - a rivalry game with Weber. SUU has 45 Utah high school players on their team and I know they likely want to show who is the "boss" in the state.

I am going with the latter. I think we will see SUU's best game and Weber will have to play great to win. Weber will be motivated to keep their playoff hopes alive, protect home turf, and to win an in-state game.

I see Weber winning this 35-31.

This is gonna be a very emotional game for both teams

I am so pumped for this game. I have taken the day off to go. I went last week but got there 15 minutes before the game started but this week I want to get there early to get a good seat.

If our D continues to improve, and I think they will, we can hold them to under 20. Our O has shown moments of clarity, they just haven't been consistant. A lot depends on how we put it all together. Coaching that is going to happen, has happened. All that is left is game planning and that is a crap shoot, at best. I give us a 55% chance of winning. :stir:

57-56 double overtime win for the Cats. Deemed the most exciting game of the year in the State of Utah.

I almost died at the end of the UNC game last year, although it would be sweet, lets just beat SUU in regulation

I really don't think this game is going to be close. 42-24.
I disagree, SUU has a very good QB, and a very good RB, with weapons like that they will be a dangerous team. I do think WSU will win but it won't be a blowout.

Fresh off a Homecoming win last week the Weber State football team will be back home this week for a blackout. This Saturday’s when the Wildcats host in-state and future Big Sky member Southern Utah will be the Blackout game. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. at Stewart Stadium.

All fans coming to the game are encouraged to wear black. Plus the first 500 fans will receive a commemorative Blackout t-shirt, courtesy of the WSU Campus Stores. In addition, the first 500 WSU students at the game will also receive a commemorative Blackout t-shirt.

The commemorative Blackout t-shirt will be available to purchase for only $7.00 from the WSU Campus Stores at the Stadium on Saturday. In addition, the Campus Stores will be selling the “Not On Our Turf” Game Day t-shirts for just $5.00.

Bring the whole family and get five tickets for just $25.00 (a 50 percent savings off the regular price).

The tailgate festivities start at 2:00 and include live music, games and activities for the kids, plus free food sampling by local restaurants.

Immediately following Saturday’s football game the Weber State volleyball team will host Eastern Washington at 7:00 p.m. at the Swenson Gym. All fans presenting their football game ticket will receive complimentary admission to the volleyball match.

Wear your black and come cheer on the Wildcats this Saturday against Southern Utah.

As I said a couple of days ago it will be a good game. I think it will be a classic. It will start a new chapter between the two teams. I have a feeling they will replace Idaho State as the team people don't like.

Anybody know when Adam Saga-White will be back? I haven't heard any injury updates. Veteson Sauni has performed admirably in his place, but it would be great to see him add some depth to the D-line for the Southern Utah and/or Montana game.

Haha. I've never been so hoarse after a game as I was from that one. One for the ages...

He should be back for SUU; they rested him because they felt confident with the group they had to work with. Adam suited up, just in case, but was thankful to not have to 'push' his ankle. We should have a full bullpen with some raving pitbulls raring to go against SUU. I heard that the Dline had a spirited practice today, everyone upbeat and on the same page.... I am more concerned with our offense. If you take the 2 bombs for TD's Saturday, it was a little closer than you'd like against ISU.

GO CATS

Yeah our offense started out slow against ISU, the safety really did change the momentum of the game. You could tell in the 2nd half that ISU's defense was beginning to get overwhelmed by our offensive line. Then we mainly just ran the ball, we racked up 300+ rushing yards. I would have liked a shutout, and I would have liked to score 50+ points, but it dont matter, all that matters is the W. :-D

And its good to see the defense come out and start really getting into a groove, a defense that plays together is a dangerous defense.

All SUU has is a BYU dropout and a bunch of kids who wish they were good enough to play anywhere else.
WSU wins BIG 47
SUU 17

I think it is safe to say that if we can stop SUU's QB we will win easily, stop him and you win the game, they have no running game. They average 68.7 yards a game. while allowing an average of 182

SUU rushing yards- Yards allowed
vs South Dakota State- 53- 137
vs Sacramento State- 128- 208
vs Texas SA- 118- 147
vs UNLV- 78- 108
vs North Dakota- 23- 160
vs South Dakota- 11-(I kid you not) 247
vs Cal Poly- 70- 267

We average 213 yards a game, If we stop thier QB and stick to our balanced attacked mostly run, we win this one.
