Closed session practice scrimmage Boise State

To bad we can't go up and watch. I'm wondering how the game goes. Ski, be sure to ask your connections how it goes.

Will the coaches keep a box score?

I'd rather be able to watch the Cats than not, but I also realize that this is probably a better game for the Cats than a DII team. Playing, and thoroughly beating, Boise will help the Cats grow together as a team, and most importantly, give them a chance to play a fairly solid DI program. Coach will have a great idea where his team is and what needs to be done to get them better by playing the Broncos.

exibition games are lame. this is probably better spent time for the team since it is a DI. we still get 3 exhibition games with 2 counting on our record.

I think it would be hard to not tell anyone who won the scrimmage. Or do they not even keep track of the score?

they will run it like an official game. but i dont know. im sure we will win since it is boise state. where is the game being played? we have a winning record in ogden and boise against them.

I think that the format for these things is wide open. It will, probably, be like a combined practice, controlled scrimage. I am sure that stats will be kept by both teams, that there will be officials, and that the scrimage will be as game like as possible. There won't be an official box score and next to nothing will be reported to the press. I just wish that I had been invited to be part of it. I really don't know what the rules for participants are.

I assume it is at the Dee. But some of the guys will say something about the game to their friends and it will spread around like wildfire. Hopefully it gets to us sometime soon. ;-)

The scrimmage is being played in Boise.

For hell's sake, we can't even get Boise to the Dee in a scrimmage? Maybe we should start bribing people with dates with spirit squad gals.

So anyone have any news? I heard it went well. I got a report that Boise is scrappy, but not very deep.

Who'd ya hear this from? If they said that they're "scrappy", I think that means we won, but not by as much as we'd of liked. Sounds like we wore them down. :|

Actually, I heard Weber lost the scrimmage. However, I also heard that Weber didn't play their starters very much too. I think the Freshmen played a lot.

I heard the scrappy part from an individual close to the team, who said there wasn't a score.

LOL! its not even a game. you should have the same reaction after we lost and won the purple and white. did anyone read about the griz/wazzu scrimmage? if it was like that there is nothing to take from it.

Whether Weber won or lost the scrimmage doesn't matter. It was a glorified practice. None of use know the conditions behind the scrimmage and what sets, players, or rotations were used. What is nice about the scrimmage is that Weber was able to play against a team that is a DI program. Someone they can get better against. To me this is a win/win situation for the Cats.

Disclaimer: the person close to the team didn't say Weber lost or won, but only that it was a good experience for the team.
