Have to wonder if anyone else is on their way out.
 
We have had a ton of turnover on our coaching staff. Not a lot of stability there. Hope recruits stay in tact for next year and we find some viable options to come in. Hopefully the lack of resources and $$$ doesn't totally wipe out candidates.

Can only guess coaches leave because of the toxic environment especially lateral moves.
How long does the Athletic director wait? 🤔 if the AD leaves then new person comes in the program just continues to be cellar dwellers.

If you have spent any time around this program you know exactly what I am talking about. The king does it his way only if you comply you fit in..if you don't your out.

I have spent time with the program. The King....which I am assuming you are referring to Best is the Head coach and thus is the Boss...so in any job if you don't comply...follow the rules and expectations then yes you are out. I can't imagine the pressure these coaches have to not only win, but now recruit their own players during the season. There is probably zero time for BS as I wouldn't deal with it. The last thing as a coach you want is for the kids/players running the show as that has never worked.

Hickey out in April... not a big shock. I'd have to assume the university knows she didn't really accomplish what was expected. I'm wondering if Eastern will try to get John Johnson from Portland State. He certainly has ties to Eastern and knows the right people to make fundraising work.
 
I believe Hickey announced her retirement beginning of year or even before that. So this has been known for awhile and hopefully someone (President) has an idea who they will hire and do it soon and seamlessly. She was talked into staying longer than planned by giving her a nice bump in pay and additional title. Nice retirement pop. Need a great hire to assure some stability and support for athletic programs.

Had no idea John Johnson was at Portland State like the guy but would really be surprised to see him rehired at EWU. Is this like his 3rd Big Sky School?
Anyone in the department already as we know we can't go big bucks for someone.
