WSU hoops picked first
by Jasen Asay - Oct 21st, 2009
FInally, something the media and coaches agree on.

The Big Sky Conference released its preseason men’s basketball polls on Wednesday with the Wildcats being picked first in both polls.

“I think the polls have been wrong for five years in a row,” joked WSU head coach Randy Rahe. “I hope this year they’re right.”

The last 2 times Weber State was selected first in both polls we didn't win.

2004 and 2008

Both times Weber was picked first we had won the league title the season before. Exactly like now, 2009 champs and picked to repeat in 2010.

Like Coach Rahe said, I hope they get the poll correct this time!

USU and BYU also picked to win their conferences.

WSU's first official game of the season is at home against USU on Nov 13. The last time USU came to Ogden was 2008. Both schools were picked 1st in their conferences and WSU won 78-71.

Who is Eastern going to finish above? Any team from 1-8 could win the conference... There is that much parity. I hope that the Sky is able to get some good wins in the OCC this season, starting on November 13.
