Coaching carousel: Beau Baldwin

Reports are surfacing that Colorado's Mike MacIntyre won't return next season, which basically means the coaching carousel season is upon us. So I figured I'd start a thread about our former beloved coach Beau Baldwin (and Nicholas Edwards) to track rumors we hear about where they might be going. Because I think it's safe to say that after this season at Cal, Beau will be getting looked at for P5 HC jobs.

What do you all think? Think Colorado would be a nice next step for Beau and Nick?

And what else are people hearing / thinking out there?

I had mentioned this in a post on different subject but;
USC is said to be looking at Cal's Justin Wilcox to replace Clay Helton as head coach. Ergo BB may be in the running at Cal if that happens.

I love Coach Beau, but his offenses haven't exactly been lighting up the Pac-12. Cal is winning with defense. It doesn't mean he wouldn't be a great head coach somewhere (he would), but I'd wonder if his stock has dropped a little.

yeah wonder how much control Wilcox gives Beau at Cal some of the play calling makes me wonder if he is getting in Beau;s way a little.

Beau's offenses lit up FBS opponents while at Eastern. It's certainly within reason to suspect Wilcox is interfering with the play calling. Like Dopa said, this may be negatively impacting his value in the market. Who knows something?

I wouldn't wish Berkeley on anyone regardless of salary. Regarding Beau's position there, a couple years for any football coach is too short to evaluate a team and individual members on top of setting up one's own program, recruiting and developing newcomers, working with assistants' ideas, etc, plus establishing communication with the A D, students, public, recruiting terrain, and media. Six seasons is about correct to judge a coach's fit, results and future. I wish Coach Beau great results wherever he coaches not just in winning, but in building the character of those he coaches.

If Wilcox gets the USC job (not saying he wants it), I wonder if Beau would get the Cal job? I think he'd be a great fit for that gig. He'd be a good choice at Colorado as well, but I feel like he might be more of an outsider to that program.

I can't help but wonder if Beau gets a HC gig in the Mountain West and then heads back to the Pac 12. He was so close to the Nevada job until Ault backed Norvell for the job.

no chance, BB family moved back to Spokane several months after he took the job. He is looking for a better family location.
