College basketball countdown: No. 65 Weber State

Pretty sweet article. I'm thinking it is going to be tough, but with how much talent the Cats have they can win the Sky purely off of that.

I would be very pleased with the outcome that is predicted here. We are ultra young, ultra athletic, and a well coached team. It can certainly happen, if things come together for us. The truly impressive thing, to me, is how our coaches seem to build the program with better talent each and every year. We are extremely close to taking that next step up and going from a very good team to a truly outstanding team.

No matter what happens this season, the Wildcats are going to be a great show.

Personally, I feel this selection is fully based off of Weber's talent level. No other team in the Sky is as talented at all 5 positions as the Cats are. Yes, Eastern, Sac, and NAU have talented athletes, but not at all 5 positions.

To me Sac and Eastern are the most likely programs to challenge the Cats next season, since they have players who can contribute at all 5 positions. Yet, neither really have much of a bench. NAU has the talent, but they really don't have the bigs to compete for the conference crown.

Montana, well, we will just have to see. The Grizz have talent, but can they put it all together without Tinkle? He is the primary reason why their bigs developed. Without Tinkle, can the Grizz bigs become a force to be reckoned with? Who knows...there are a lot of question marks.

:thumb: to Weber continuing to ride the Dame recognition parade, but  to the in-depth analysis of looking at last season's BSC and WSU results and clicking copy/paste. I hope Weber is dancing again next March but it's a little early for even those who are familiar with the BSC to project much.

Agreed...there are too many question marks with this years team to automatically assume, just because the Cats won the conference last year, that they will win again this year. Yes, Weber has talent returning from last years conference championship team, and yes, the team has a number of highly talented players joining the program, but we will never know until the season starts and the guys hit the hardwood how good the Cats will be. On paper, the Cats seem to be the team to beat, but like I said in an earlier post -yes the Cats have the talent, and if talent were the only measure of success, the Cats would win again this season- Eastern, NAU, Sac, and UM all seem very dangerous and could definitely challenge the Cats. UNCO, UND, and PSU all could turn some heads, and be a dark horse challenger. Finally, none of us know what to expect from Idaho. I like what Olds has to say...no matter what happens, or plays out, this is going to be a really fun season to watch here in Ogden.
