Colorado Christian @ Weber

Rahe in the Standard:

"I don't even know when we play Utah," Wildcats coach Randy Rahe said. "I have no idea. All I know is we have Colorado Christian. We don't look at anything but the day we've got. We tried to get better (at practice Monday. Today), when we wake up, we know we've got a game so we've got to try to win our next game. That's all we do. There's no looking ahead."

Colorado Christian presents a lot of difficult matchups, Rahe said.

"They can really shoot it and they play a four-guard lineup. Their 5 man is actually more of a guard, even, than probably a big man. They are extremely aggressive and they run a lot of different sets to get their shooters shots," he said. "Our bigger guys are going to have to guard a guard."

"They gave us all we could handle and more last year, and they have added some excellent transfer players," Rahe said.

I'm thinking tonights game is going to be fun to watch. There are going to be a lot of hussle plays and running.

I don't understand why the Athletic Department has the Mens games, during the preseason, at random times. I know the women are playing Utah, but nonetheless, the CASH COW of the department is the Men's team, not CT's team. I don't understand what Bovee is doing having the Men's game first. It's going to hurt the Men's game attendance, and it wont necessarily help the Women. Also, the fans want to see the Men's game, not the womens. I know what he is trying to do, he's hoping the people will stay for the womens game, but in all likelyhood everyone will leave once the men's game is done. Also, the men's game attendance will be down due to the start time. To me its a dumb idea. He would get the maximum number of fans to womens game at the right moment, at the end of the game if the Mens game were the second one featured. Also, its the game everyone is really interested in anyway. ITS THE MAIN PROGRAM in the department.

This is the story on sports at the collegiate and even high school levels. Title IX has changed the landscape permanently, and schedules are not necessarily about which team or game is favored by the majority of fans.

-Scott Bamforth is a stud
-Dame lights it up as always
-Freshman players looked pretty good
-Tresnak's goaltend was a block
-Tresnak's hanging on the rim was merited, why'd he get the tech?
-CCU's bench got way too excited in the 2nd half being down by 20+

BRING ON THE UTES!

BRING ON THE UTES!

Weber State is the only team in the nation thats gets called for hanging on the rim.

As I just watched my first Wildcat game this year (and one that wasnt tainted by refs like in a game vs not mentioning any names Utah State . I am really excited about this team, granted it was Colorado Christian, but a good CC team, they have speed and have good shooters.

I hope Weber goes into SLC and shoves the ball down Utah's throught, make the Utes wish they stopped playing us sooner.

it was a fun game to watch even against a DII, everyone got plenty of minutes including bamforth to get him ready.

it was pretty cool seeing us score more than double the points in the 2nd half from the first half. great shooting in the game 56.1% FG; 55.6% 3's, (23-26) 88.5% ft's.

mahoney in 26 min had 9 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks
morris 13 and 4 in 30 min hitting 6-10 from the field
tresnak 4 points and 3 boards in 14 min and another big dunk; the tech was a bit weak but we've seen that before at the dee.
fulton 4 rebs in 11 min

lillard 7-10 field, 31 min, 3-4 3's, 25 points, 4 rebs, 8-8 ft's
bamforth, 19 min, 6-10 field, 4-7 3's, 20 points, 4 rebs, he's probably not even 100% yet
hughey 14 points in 26 min, 4-6 shooting, 4 assists
richardson 14 min, 5 points, 3 assists, 2 steals, i love his quickness

the big sky went 4-1 today and unc had a good win beating wyo at home for the big sky to start 1-0 vs mwc. we are 0-4 vs the wac, 1-0 vs the wcc and big west.

the game ended like our sac state game in 2009, 97 points with the crowd wanting 100. it wasn't much of a crowd for a season home opener but it was at 5:30 on a tues. this yr has some really lame start times but whatevz.

BRING ON THE UTES!

I listened to the game on the radio.
Arkey: "Oh and they called a foul on Tresnak!"
Dutch: "This guy has reffed too many girl's games!"
lool
Dutch was pretty pissed off about the Tresnak's tech as well. It's pretty funny to hear a radio guy complain about the reffing the whole game.
