The Big Sky Conference announced its 2012 Scholar Athlete Award winners today with Portland State's Eryn Jones and Drew Hubel earning honors.

Jones, a four-year letterwinner in women's basketball, is graduating with a degree in Health Sciences. She was an All-Conference performer on the court and Big Sky Player of the Year in 2011. She recently signed to play professionally in Germany.

Hubel, also a four-year letterwinner in football, is graduating with a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. He set three Portland State passing records during his career, including a national-record nine touchdown passes in one game.

The following student athletes were selected by their respective institutions based upon athletic and academic performance during the 2011-12 school year. To qualify for the award, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.2 (on a 4.0 scale), be a member of the graduating class and/or have completed their last year of intercollegiate athletic eligibility, have completed at least two years of intercollegiate competition at the institution, and be a letterwinner.
