I hate to pull this scab off. But, it must be addressed, based on his current success. When he first left, I was one of the ones talking crap, because I felt he was wrong. Like every other Universty, EWu does what's best for the program, not necessarily the player. Nothing wrong with that because it's a business. When VA exercised his choice on what's was best for him, he became the villain and that's not right, in my opinion.

I was obviously wrong because VA made the right decision for him. Right now he's breaking Oregon's single-game records and is proving he's, in fact, a special player and is getting way more PR then he would have playing at EWU.

I'm rooting for VA because in my mind he's still an Eagle and served us proud, He destroyed USC like they were B level school and made them look silly. EWU has the possibility to be mentioned on 2 occasions come NFL draft day. EWU needs to get over it and embrace this young man. Because in the end- he started as an Eagle.

On a side note: As a high school coach, I've seen RH up close during scouting trips. He' the real deal. I'm not going to jinx the young man, but he' has the potential of being something special as well. I'm real excited to se him after a whole off-season at #1.Rember UW almost grabbed hin days before recruiting signing day. If it wasn't for their current starter signing at last minute- RH would have been a husky, it went almost until the last day! I think we're going to see a vastly differently player and offense come sept 2016- mark my words.

Agree with the comments on VA. He's still an Eagle in my book, and I like watching him tear up the Pac-12, because that's a player that was recruited and developed at EWU.

Also agree on RH. People forget that outside of special moments (Montana, SHSU), Vernon had some rough patches playing as a RS Freshmen. We had to take some lumps this year. The QB situation going forward will improve.

He didn't just start as an Eagle, he was given an opportunity, nurtured, and pushed to greatness as an Eagle. Oregon would be staying home for the bowl season without EWU.

His decision has pretty much been vindicated and will be for sure if/when he gets drafted 4th round or better.

I too find it tough to not root for the kid and I wish him luck but the way he handled it and the rule in general still stinks to high heaven.

He's still an Eagle ONLY if he chooses to be. We'll see.
