Some how some way the ball has to be in Coopers hands in order for this offense to display the vibrancy it has shown in the past.
ex: A CP wide receiver score a touchdown on an end around.

Every play Cal Poly had him double covered and some plays had a linebacker under him as well. A win is a win is a win.

I think we do a little of that with letting Coop return punts. I see it a little differently. If Coop is being double teamed that means some other guys have to make plays. That is when 7 and 11 have to step up their game. I was impressed with 88 on his ability to make some catches on the sideline Saturday. Cal Poly was able to just what they wanted, move guys up in the box and take away the run, double Coop and take him out of the equation. The wind made it so we couldn't stretch the field. Hell 5 struggled to through a twelve yard out late in the game. It was tough conditions to play in and it played right into the Mustangs hands. Luckily, we were able to come back and get a W. But I am not sure we need to change what we do because teams are doubling. We just need other guys to make plays.

They doubled Coop on every play and even helped with a third player on a lot of the plays. Had the wind not been a factor, we would have thrown the ball deep a lot more and it would have been a much different game and opened up a lot more. The weather conditions played right into Cal Poly's plans because we were limited as to what we could do on offense and it allowed them to take our best player out of the game...

I know we use CK mostly in the slot, but I think we can move him around more in certain situations. Move him outside or put another WR on the field to really stretch the defense. It's hard to double team a guy when you have three other receivers you have to cover. But I agree we shouldn't change too much. We do need other plays to step up, and they have and they will. Bourne is really starting to play like a 1st team all-conference kind of player. I do think we need #88 to step up his game so we can use him in more red zone type situations.

There was a reason he wasn't getting the ball downfield. Once JW figured that out Bourne was 1:1 on every play with no safety help.

Pick your poison. Now if the wind wasn't at 30 mpg gusts EWU would've thrown the ball downfield.

What is concerning is EWUs 3rd down conversion rate. Against Top 10 teams in the playoffs they will need to convert a much higher percentage if their going to advance.

At the start of the year, expectations were compete for BSC title and a get 1-2 wins in playoffs. Nothing has changed.

Rest of schedule sets up well. All winnable games. Griz game doesn't look as daunting.

I think expectations are higher if you ask any player. This team has the ability to win it all and I'm sure that is one of their goals...

As a fan my expectations are higher than BSC title or I would not have bought tickets @ Toyota stadium in Frisco already, we'll get there.
