Could 2009 PSU beat 2003 WSU (Boyette)??

Many are saying the 2008-09 Portland State Vikings are maybe the best Big Sky team in the past 8-10 years.

Who would say this year's Vikings could beat Jermaine's WSU team his senior season?

For those that need a refresher on the class of 2003
While a WSU Wildcat, Jermaine's teams beat: LSU, Wisconsin, BYU, Utah, Utah State, Nevada, Boise State, Colorado State, Bradley, UC-Santa Barbara.

He finished his senior season 16-0 in Big Sky and 26-6 overall and 30th in the nation in the AP Poll, and top 5 for Mid-Major Top 25.

Jermaine Boyette in the WSU record books:
#1 single season points - 657
#1 career free-throws made - 486
#2 career steals - 171, Baskerville is #1 with 172
#2 career steals average - 2.15
#3 for career points - 1,613
#5 career pts per game (2 season minimum) - 19 ppg

1 of just 4 three Time Big Sky Conference 1st Team
1 of just 6 WSU players to be named Big Sky MVP

Would Boyette laugh at the challenge of Jeremiah Dominguez?

This 2009 PSU Viking team wouldn't even make the list of the top 5 Big Sky teams of all time. Give me a freaking break!! Hell even WSU has had at least 5 teams better than the '09 Vikings.
This is giving me a real good laugh though.
Portland state, what a freaking joke
Boyette would bitch slap Dominguez

When PSU comes to town I hope all the fans remember how Dominguez's Spring Break in Mexico went. I think Javier's should be the game sponser and we could have a big Mexican theme night. :D

Is the 09 Portland State team going undefeated in conference?

I DONT THINK SO.

Boyette's teams would wipe the floor with 09 PSU.

Top 5 big sky teams of all time? This year's PSU...not even close. Weber alone has had at least 10 teams that would mop the floor with the '09 PSU. We've had 5 teams alone finish in the AP Top 25.

We've had 7 seeds...

'77 ISU would smoke '09 PSU too.

1995, 1999, 2003 WSU would destroy 2009 PSU. Maybe 2007 WSU would be challenged playing em...

Would these trash talking bums even score 30 points again 1982 Idaho; 1969, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1980 WSU?

Not only would Boyette teach Dominquez a thing or too, Eddie Gill, Damian Baskerville, Alvin Snow, Rodney Stuckey, Chris Hester...shall I go on from guards just this decade?

Our new boys Lillard, McCoy have schooled him pretty good...

Check the box scores of this year's PSU game and both PSU games last year. Our guards have schooled Dominguez. When he came to Ogden last year he had 5 points and was player of the year. McCoy had like 22 pts.

This year freshman Lillard had 14 and Dom had 11.

shoot. Boyette wouldn't even need a team. He could take on PSU's whole roster by himself. He could be his own waterboy, chalk up his own plays, and even provide the half-time entertainment and still school dominguez and co. without breaking a sweat.

Wow, not sure if PSU could beat that '03 Weber team, they had some impressive wins, but you guys obviously aren't interested in having an intelligent conversation about it. Our team this year isn't all about Jeremiah Dominguez, we actually have a pretty balanced squad, I think Murray and Waters are as good or better than McCoy and Lillard. Can't wait for the game @ Weber, it should be a battle.

Dont get us wrong, Portland State does have a very talented team, we just dont hink they would stand a chance against Boyette and his team.

Like i said, forget about boyette's team. they wouldn't stand a chance against just Boyette aka My Spirit Be Gone.
Okay, maybe not. But just so you know, PSU guy, i just said that stuff to get some more of you psu fans over here to talk about it.
You guys to have some great players and are very balanced, but from what I hear from some people who know alot about those guys, they don't have the best character in the world, and if I were you that would scare me, especially when you come down to the Dee.

There is only one answer that can sum up my feelings on this issue... NO WAY IN HELL, could they beat Boyette's team. I don't even think they could beat Alvin Snow's 2004 Eastern Washington team. However, they are extremely good, and Bone is a good coach, even though he recruits like John L. Smith (former USU football coach, who had more players in jail than in practice on most Monday's). I'm excited for the rematch come St. Valentines Day... I'm predicting another massacre, just hoping its the vikings and not the Cats.

This decade's Big Sky champs that 2009 PSU could beat (especially the bolded as they didnt even win the conf tourney they hosted):

2000: Montana - yes
2001: Northridge - yes
2002: Montana State - yes
2003: Weber, 16-0 - no
2004: EWU, 11-3 - yes, would be good game
2005: Portland St - yes
2006: NAU - yes

2007: WSU, 11-5 - yes
2008: PSU - yes

Wait a sec!!! 2001... That Northridge team was a very good team. They were extremely athletic and great shooters. I don't know if PSU could beat them.

Hum, 3 losses for the mighty vikings... Welcome to the Big Sky, Dominic: "We won't lose any more. Not any games. The rest of the season, we will not lose again."

After watching todays psu game verves montana state, there looks like portland will have a tough time coming back and win the conferance this year. Forget talking about this team beating the 2003 wildcats, they couldn't even handle their games in montana. This team shouldn't even be ranked in the mid-major top 25, they are all just talk especially that garantee from waters about not lossing after the game a couple of weeks ago. When they get a team that can go undefeated in conferance or even beat a top team in the march madness then we can talk about that team beating our 2003 team. Until then, forget about it.
