No doubt by now you've heard how Utah is cancelling next season's game at BYU. Love seeing the overwhelmingly negative reaction they're getting. Also loved Jerry Bovee's tweet about it (see below). Politicians are now voicing their disappointment. Wouldn't be surprised to see the legislature get involved and force Utah to play the game. Too bad we didn't see this kind of reaction when Utah decided they would no longer play Weber or Utah State. But if the legislature gets involved, they had better remember that there are other D1 schools in the state that Utah should be playing. It's been mentioned on here before, but I'm beginning to like the idea of the legislature passing a law requiring publicly funded state schools to play each other, if not every year, then at least every 2 or 3 years.

I'm waiting for the next Ute announcement that they are changing their color to yellow, changing Swoop from a hawk to a chicken and adopting the cowardly lion as their alternate mascot.

 Yeah, another classy example by coach Koward and supported by the mighty pUkes.

I posted this here when the Utes did this to us. But I think it needs to be brought out for an encore:

What do you get when you cross a chicken with a Ute?

A clucking coward...

Speaker of the house talks about Utah refusing to play Weber State after getting pummeled in 2011, yet scheduled Idaho St & No Arizona out of the Big Sky. Brings it up yet again in the last minute of clip.

Calls it Arrogance, & accumulative decisions by Utah over time, recites the 2011 score of WSU 80- Utah 55.

I get that if the Utes lose to us it will be a big deal and if they win its more of an expected thing. That is why we NEED to win big games. Beating BYU and USU along with other OOC games making us look more inviting, higher RPI. Then if we happen to beat them it wont be the end of the world for them, Hence when we won by 23 and havent seen them since.

That was the best video I've seen in quite awhile. Hearing him speak about Weber State destroying Utah made me fear I may have to consult my physician in four hours, if you catch my drift.

If I had any semblance of Photoshop skills, I would put Larry Krystkowiak's face on the cowardly lion. It seems like it would match up pretty well.

You beat me to it!! 29!!

Suffice it to say...I hate the University of Utah because of LK. I would never have cheered the the Y over the U and now it is switched (don't worry, I'm not a Y fan either. Cannot stand them!!). LK is an absolute coward and the sheepishly idiotic Chris Hill is a tool of epic proportions. Together they have destroyed any sort of admiration, respect, or even mild dislike for the Pukes. My enmity runs off the charts for Utah.

it was important for utes to end these instate games. it sounded like larry was saying they needed to stop playing byu for safety reasons. its about saving lives. you guys are very inconsiderate.

Okay, so, I'm not a fan of Greg Hughes politically and I feel he isn't the best person to lead our state legislatures, but I absolutely loved what he had to say about the pukes and their, uh, he said arrogance, I think cowardice. (you all know he is a Weber State grad right?)

My only issue with this outcry is that it is finally occurring after a state school rejected a private school. The state shouldn't get their panties in a twist over BYU. It is a private institution! However, by rejecting Utah State and Weber State that should have caused more of an uproar. Granted, Weber's rivalry with the U is less than 50 years old, but with Utah State?? It was longer than the BYU vs. Utah rivalry and nobody pitched quite as loud of a fit. Nevertheless, I'm glad that a tantrum is finally being thrown and that LK and Hill are being called to the carpet for their cowardly actions.

It is really sad that the Old Oquirrh Bucket had to go. It was unilaterally retired by Utah when they joined the PAC12. Why? Who the hell knows. I don't understand how joining another conference suddenly makes it impossible to participate in a traveling trophy. BYU went to the WCC, USU to the MW, and SUU to the Big Sky. Why didn't their moves affect the Bucket's standing. Heaven's, why couldn't BYU, Utah State, and Weber have kept it going? By adding either SUU or UVU (or both) to the mix it still has 5 teams that play each other. If not the other two, Weber, BYU, and State all play each other every year. Why does Utah get the final say, when it was created by a Weber State student? FRUSTRATING!! I'm glad that the utes are finally being called out. I say if they don't play instate schools, TAX their athletics programs.

who is the bigger douchebag?

Doctor Kris Hill? Larry Kriskowiwak?

Before Douchbag LK arrived there was no talk of eliminating this game from our schedule. Why his highly overrated team is still awaiting their first conference win they're getting obliterated in the media.

Crazy that it takes Utah elimating their game with Byu (a private school) to get the attention of the legislature 5 years after the fact, about the stunt they pulled on WSU, & USU (State of Utah Institutions) :dunce:

where is the upvote button? :thumb:

Call me crazy but I think this may be more of a "Pac 12 conference" thing than just a U of Utah/Larry Krystowiak thing.

The Pac 12 threw a fit and refuses to this day to play Grand Canyon U in any sports dues to the Antelopes "for profit" status as a educational institution. While I'm no fan of GCU, this does sound like a case of sour grapes by the conference not wanting competition in their own back yard.

ASU lost in Tempe to NAU in men's basketball in 2006 and 2001. They haven't scheduled NAU since.

That's BS that the U of Utah was able to call the shots on cancelling the Old Oquirrh Bucket competition. Why not let BYU, USU, WSU, SUU and UVSU continue and tell the Utes to shove it? Let them continue to schedule Savannah State, Delaware State and the College of Idaho in their challenging home non-conference schedule?

Coach K back at it trying to justify this move.

Not sure why the Utes or their Johnny-come-lately fans think they have any credibility on the issue. They lost all credibility when they cancelled series with us and the Aggies.

I'm sure not many remember Kristo as a player, but he was about the most Jerry Sloan-esqe player I can recall. Hard-nosed, tough and a real over-achiever.

It's pretty bizarre watching him be Chris Hill's little b i t c h boy...

But he looks so pathetic... so you know he's truly representing that institution well.
