Good luck, I enjoyed her time as a coach while at Sac State.

Holy crap! What a time for THIS to happen! I wouldn't be surprised if some players backed out of their LOIs....

Gina Johnson, anyone?

Good for Craighead. She deserves a promotion which will double, if not triple her salary.

Sucks for the program though, she was the only coach to make the women's hoops program competitive and although I never bothered to watch a women's hoops game, it sure sounded entertaining based on some posts here and some of the Hornetsports releases. My guess is Wanless will slap an interim tag on one of the leftover coaches (I assume Craighead takes the best assistant coaches that will help her build the Spartan program) and hands the job to some JC coach following this season. What happens to the players is anyone's guess, since they are enrolled in fall I don't think they can pick up and leave without sitting out this season. Very poor timing as far as finding a new coach and filling out the coaching positions.

And I recall some "Poster" ripping Craighead and the A.D. for hiring her as an "awful" hire.
I sure hope we get another "awful" hire like her............

As I suggested Bill Baxter has been named acting head coach of the women's program. Very successful girl's basketball coach and AD at El Camino High School where he has won Section Championships. Nice guy even if he is a UCD grad! I'm sure he will do a good job keeping the program together this season.
