Some nice comments by Mr. Crawford, on the Comcast website about Tyler Geving and interesting info on possible Stott Center expansion.

This guy is really good on college basketball and that is why I follow him.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa!

Oregon State is going to play men's basketball in the Stott Center in the 2012-13 season?

I think Crawford's Court is credible, but I just can't see a Pac-10, er, Pac-12 team visiting the Peter W Stott Center for a game of men's basketball.

Martymoose:

You are right, Crawford's Court on http://www.csnnw.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is very credible and I checked today and he told me that is absolutely correct, Oregon State will visit the Stott Center next year, for a MEN'S game.

Thanks, MM, for getting me to think about it.

Good/Weird to hear. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but it just shocks me.

Reminds me of the home bracket buster game against Boise State. Packed house, high energy; Awesome.

I've heard from folks in the athletic dept. that OSU will play at the Stott Center next year. It's a home-and-home arrangement for basketball.

Really, really interesting information from Crawford's Court:

Portland State---Sometimes I do feel like a punching bag cause I live in Portland, Oregon. When I do write about Portland State, I get all kinds of comments that I write about them too much from Portland Pilot fans and it is reversed when I write about U of Portland. My response is I love the rivalry between the two schools and I hope it continues to be fair and respectful, but also more heated than it is today.

So just like politics, equal time today for the Portland State Vikings. My hats are off to athletic director Torre Chisholm and his staff in their continuing efforts to have basically a new arena in the Stott Center. The Stott Center, named after the great Portland State booster and alum Peter Stott, is a great place to watch a game at present, but Portland State needs a bigger arena to stay competitive in the ever changing world of D-1 basketball.

The present plans are to have a 4.500 to 5.000 seat arena, on the east side of the Stott Center, with open views out to the iconic South Park Blocks. It might be a few years away, but this plan is moving forward and it appears it will actually happen, when is anyone's guess, but if any school ever needed a new place to play basketball it is Portland State.
