Credit where credit is due

I was not a fan of Sears. His best year came with Sperbeck's players, but he and his staff deserve credit for this current team. It's been apparent since opening day that the talent level is much better this year and this team has the potential to be downright explosive at times.

He also deserves credit for picking Thomson as the starter. There were some on here saying that Cassel was the choice of the players, but Thomson has looked like the second coming of Safron, and Sears was right going with him.

For the first time in a long time I'm looking forward to the rest of the season.

Well said. Still a long way to go but this team is light years ahead of last season. Without a doubt the best Hornet defense in a very very long time.

The Coaches and Hornets deserve a lot of credit for their perfomance so far this season. This is a drastic improvment over the team that we have seen the past two seasons.
The team has looks good, motivated and well prepared and has improved in all four games this season.
If they play like they did against against Southern Utah and the last three quarters vs. Weber State they can beat anyone left on the schedule. Actually the Weber State game was especially impressive, they found theimselves down by 24 to a very good team in the first quarter yet were able to stay focused, composed and to make a close game of it.

I personally don't care who the coach is as long as the team is prepared, motovated and plays to the best of their talent and ability. That is the function and responsibility of the coaching staff. If we play up to our ability, get beat by better athletes or by the unpredictable breaks of the game I can live with that.

The past two seasons the team looked unmotovated, unprepared and in my opnion lost to many teams with far less talent, that was on the coaches. The last time I missed even a single home game was 2008 and I was getting to the point of not wanting to attend games.

Whatever changes, players positions, coaching assignments etc. that have been made this season is working. The team looks good and is improving in every aspect of the game.
Special shout out to the defense, our real weak point in the past. They are fast, relentless and excute so well, too bad we didn't have D like that during the Safron, Carter years!

Many of these players are the same kids that have lost the past two seasons. A few coaching changes but this is what happens when you give the staff time and players get older. Nearly 30 Jrs on this team.
