Critical flaw

The last time I saw a coach deciding to kick onside simply because he knew the second the defense stepped on the field they were going to give up a TD was when I was in 7th grade and my junior high team was ahead something like 50-14.

Eastern did a lot of good things today, but none of those good things came from the defense. I worry that no matter how good our offense is, our D will always keep the opponent in the game. And because of that, despite the talent to win a lot of games, we're never quite up to winning it all. Someone who can make stops on us will out score us.

I know the Huskies have a good OL and Ross is playmaker like Taiwan. But this was not a world-beater offense.

That rant aside, I thought Wadood played well today. He seems to have found his role. Right now, Wadood and McDonald seem to be the two guys who you'd peg to lead a turnaround if one is in the cards.

I completely agree. Even if our defense was just a little bad and gave up, say... 38 points, well, there's a lopsided victory for us. You can't tell me that our offensive players are just THAT much better than or defensive players. Something needs to be changed.
