Brett Hein (standard.net sports) posted about this this morning saying when can this game be made up? It doesn't look possible.

SUU @ MSU was supposed to be played Jan 15 but it was postponed. Will it be cancelled?

Below are all remaining dates for big sky hoops, i see no date possible.

feb 10, thurs: psu @ msu
feb 12, sat: nau @ msu; suu @ sac
feb 14, mon: suu @ unc
feb 17, thurs: msu @ ewu
feb 19, sat: msu @ suu
feb 21, mon: suu @ nau
feb 24, thurs: um @ suu
feb 26, sat: not possible
feb 27, sun: msu @ um
feb 28, mon: not possible
mar 3, thurs: sac @ msu; suu @ isu
mar 5, sat: unc @ msu; suu @ wsu

big sky said make up games have to have 2 days break from any other games.

big sky tourney starts wed mar 9 in boise. could they use the monday before? neither are likely to play in the first round on the wednesday.

how does this impact wsu?

lets say weber is in first, tied with msu, co-champs. oh wait, that isn't possible. weber would have played 20, msu 19. instead, if this game isn't played, it could mean the big sky champ for the 2nd yr in a row got lucky because not all the games took place. it could be wsu, msu or suu likely. maybe suu would have been the reg season champ last yr either way, but they had the most beneficial schedule in big sky history that helped them to the 1 seed.

if 1 thru 3 or 1 thru 4 end up close, this game could impact the entire top seeds.

The Big Sky should just go baseball style and have SUU and MSU play a double header. It would be some justice for MSU since they are bragging all over about beating WSU by 20+ when Weber was playing their 6th game in 13 days. And SUU, well Todd Simon is an ass hat and deserves any negative treatment his team can get.

The double header is not a bad idea, but it would be 2 home games for MSU. They could play on Monday March 7th. That is the same week as the Big Sky tournament in Boise. Both MSU and SUU are going to be in the top 5 and have a bye on Wed so that could work, but assuming either make it to the championship on Saturday that would be 4 games in 6 days. Only seems fair I think. We had to play 6 games in 13 days. EWU played a crazy road schedule. It might not matter, but if that game is not made up and it effects the standings, I'm going to be really bugged. We just need to sweep this weekend and we are in great shape to be 1 seed.

Remind me, which school originally cancelled the game? If it can't be made up, doesn't that mean the team that cancelled has to forfeit?

It was SUU. Maybe they should have to take a forfeit.

6 games in 13 days? Any league leading team in the country would get smoked by 20+ at home if faced with such an unfair and daunting schedule.

The 6 game thing is probably a little emotionally draining. However, IMHO, the hard fought, emotional game with UM had more to do with our drop off of intensity for the MSU game. Same thing happened to UM n its trip to Poky. After a game like that, and with one day to prepare, a drop off is likely. Trow into that ISU and MSU had multiple days to prepare. Upsets happen in those situations.

MSU/SUU should be required to play their games or both lose .5 of a game. Shouldn't matter who could not play originally. Those were rules set by the conf. and the schools, not by the coaches or players. Those games can be played and not have any back to backs. It just might require rescheduling other of their previously scheduled games or, like has been said, extend the season for them to the 7th. :coffee:

If Weber plays like usual in the BSC tourney they may not have to play multiple games!
