I thought Weber State had a damn good offense and gave us all we
could handle. I am just recovering from yesterday and this is my first
post, but a couple things are clear:

1. We are not as good as we thought.
2. CU is worse than we thought.
3. We are making progress and in the right direction to be a GOOD
team - but still have a long way to go.

I'm pretty embarrased as yesterday's performance - one of the few
times I have ever walked out of Hughes guilty for the win. BUT, a win
is a win.

Anyone know why the heck out team does not have a guy that can kick
off the ball to at LEAST the 10 yard line? Playing the bigs boys that is
going to absolutely kill us. Weber, on average from my guess, started
on the 35 after kickoffs.

Okay I was pissed about the way the Rams played, but WSU was a
preaseason #10 team in the FCS level. I see that Florida St. struggled
to beat Jacksonville St., Maryland struggled against James Madison,
Virginia lost to William and Mary, so our game today was good only
because we won. A win, is a win, is a win, right? We still have a long
way to go and coach Fairchild will get us there. Nevada may win next
week, or they may not. Either way as long as the Rams improve week
to week I will be happy. I still believe we are going to win 8 games this
year. UNm SUCKS, WYO is tough but beatable, Utah is looking
vullnerable, we play TCU tough and UNLV is still UNLV. After a few
hours to reflect I say we will be okay, and GO RAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look, I have covered it as part of my job for the last 3 years. I used to
think it was garbage too. When I went to school a bad 04 team and an
average 03 team wiped the floor with Montana State and Weber.

But the times they are a changing.....

Talking to coaches, the biggest changes have been in scholarship
limits. Fact is better players are filtering down to 1-AA where as in the
past they would just be backups at bigger 1-A schools. Only the super
powers (texas, OU, USC, etc) should have easy times, and that's
because they have insane depth. Their backup teams would kick ass
in FBS.

Yes, there are plenty of dogs in 1-AA/FCS. But good teams like App
State and UNI would be strong in most any 1-A conference.

And as I said leading into this week, this is not the Weber State we
remember from 03 and 06. They were a playoff team last year and have
steadily gotten better under McBride. I'm not sure we overlooked them,
but we all know there is always a letdown, win or lose, after CU. The
day there isnt is the day we probably are the kind of program SF wants.

Win is a win kids, and I'll take 2-0 anyday. We're one win closer to a
bowl, and back to back bowls in our first two years with SF would be a
huge deal considering the state the program was in prior to last year.
If anything, last years tight squeeze vs. Sac State was more
concerning. That program has stunk up 1-AA for quite a while, as
opposed to Weber who has been on the up. Last year's team turned
out fine. I think this one will too.

We got lucky, but we won - who cares. Let's see what happens next
week. 2-0 sounds pretty good. 1/3 the way to a bowl birth & still
undefeated.

Good win Rams, even if it took lady luck to help out!

The only thing missing was their kicker whiffed on an extra point and a
chip shot field goal and the game is all theirs.

Congradulations to Weber State for a tremendous effort.

Hats off to those guys.

Just a really humbling experience as a fan.

AND... Their QB to one receiver combo was as good as I've seen the
Rams face.. ever. That QB was bigtime. With that said, I hope
Fairchild punishes these kids for allowing such a close game. Make
them pay and get em ready to beat Nevada.

he said they kicked the hell out of us and frankly he is spot on. They
almost doubled us in first downs, time of possession, and total plays.
Sometimes you have to be lucky and we were very lucky to win this
game. I used to work at Weber and part of me feels bad for them. I just
wish they would have beat WYO--which was another game the
Wildcats should have won.

They are a good team and likely will do well in the FCS, however we
need to do some soul searching and get better.

game, so how do you figure Weber should have beat Wyoming! Were
you at the game? You should feel lucky you barely beat them! Most of
you guys were laughing last week because WYO only beat Weber by 7
points at home? So are you still laughing???

Its nice to see these, Ram fans know they werent the better team and they should have lost.

Fact is fact, at least they know the obvious...too many mental errors killed us AGAIN, but i know we can take the Big Sky, cannot wait for the Montana game.....Eastman will be back within 4 weeks after suffering another cheap shot hi-lo block from #60 and friend. #60 gets called for holding and then 2 plays later, on the long pass play after the play was over, this crap happens. so why no flag? the refs were all downfield for the long reception. BS, i don't mind getting beat, but don't cheat. same thing happened to Eastman at the Cal Poly game when he was tearing up the O line......i hate cheaters.

Most of the CSU fans I talked to, after the game, all pretty much said that same thing. One actually said "Weber is a hell of a lot better than anyone thought, not only should they have won today, but last week too, I'll be routing for you guys for the rest of the season, good luck," and another said "before the game I didn't know who or where Weber was from, but now I'll never forget."

Maybe "games"?

WESTERN and UC DAVIS??? Worthless games...Where is the GRizz pride? I see that Texas has enough confidence to leave their stadium to play decent competition, why can't UM?
