We are going to find out how much our zone attack has improved. I expect that is all we will see against the striped kitties. We have been shooting much better from the outside lately, so I expect that the zone will not be as effective as it was in Ogden a few weeks back.

ISU is a much improved team and it will be a tough game in Pokey. Weber wins this one. :thumb: :thumb:

Zone is all we play, oldrunner. I sometimes wish Bill would overcome his devotion to the zone and integrate some man defense into his repertoire. Especially in this day and age when the trey is such a huge part of every team's game plan. There are nights when teams are just hot, and they wear us out from three, especially along the baseline. Originally Bill was thinking about using a little man this year, but with the new rules interpretations and an unexpectedly short bench because of ineligibilities, he decided against it. If the Wildcats are hot from three, it could be game over early.

Bengal;

It will be interesting to see how it goes. Your team is much better this year, they are playing together, with toughness, and obviously have the right coach to take them to higher levels. That is not just good for your program, but good for ours as well. As a road partner, nobody can look past you guys any more. We are happy that you guys are able to beat up teams a little before we get them.

We have put a lot of work into our zone and press attacks over the past several weeks. We had to, because your team exposed us a little. However, we have been able to get teams out of their zones and presses recently. It should also be noted that ISU's zone may be the best we have played all year. From what I saw in your game at SUU, ISU employs a variety of zones and will morph into a trapping matchup on demand. The biggest weakness I could see is on the interior of those zones. Once the ball is in the paint it's either a foul, a score or both. When SUU was patient they got good production, and they are not that strong inside.

I expect us to work the paint hard and take the outside shots when they are wide open. :coffee:

I suspect we are going to live (or die) by the 3-ball tonight. It would be an ideal time for Jordan Richardson to have a big game from downtown. He's due! :nod:

I don't think we will die by the three ball. If it's falling, we could run away with the game. If it's not falling, we will be pounding it inside all night long.

To me, the key is how we handle the double teams on the wings and in the post. On defense, the key is staying with Hansen and their other outside shooters. I don't think we should ever double on their posts. I don't see us using a zone much, if at all. Will we press? We haven't really been a pressing team this year. We could do it, if we needed to change the pace of the game or if there were some other need for it. However, I don't think we will see it. We will probably be switching on high ball screens and fighting through low post screens.

If Weber plays man-to-man, Andre Hatchett is the barometer for Idaho State. You guys shut him down last game (6 pts). Andre driving to the hole and either finishing or kicking out to an open Hansen or Sanchez is our offense vs. man d. As Andre goes, so goes ISU vs. man to man.

Berry is looking like he wants his points. Not passing especially on fast breaks. When he makes plays we win, when he wants his points we struggle. Case and point this game

Great night at the line for Weber, but was losing the battle on the glass. Not sure why you want to force it to 0-5 Berry for 3pt shot when ISU keying on him. Senglin 4-10. 0% vs 40%???

According to the feed on ESPN berry took the last 4 of 5 shots besides the putback by bolomboy. He took 19 shots...why just why
Hansens 3 at the end, it went so high god was able to throw it in.
