- Damian Lillard stood out, even in simple drills. Physically he's compact and toned. He rarely missed in the mid-range shooting drill, where he runs back and forth to point A and B, catching and shooting. His three-point stroke is accurate and effortless, and he looked completely comfortable from NBA range.

I watched some of it today and saw his killer dunk on the 3 on 3 drill. Sounds like nothing but high praise for him. Best of luck to Damian from here on out! Not that he needs luck. Anything he gets he will have earned it!

Just got the alumni magazine, it came with a centerfold of Damian going to dunk and the words "FLY GUY" Pretty Sweet.

I watched all the coverage of both days, and it's pretty unanimous that he's the best PG in the draft. Surprisingly, few of the analysts used the "He played at small-time Weber State," as an excuse to find a weakness in his game.

I got the "FLY GUY" poster too, and it is way cool. Its going up in my son's room as soon as I get off my lazy ass to do it.

Maybe, through Lillards achievements, the county will find a greater respect for the Big Sky Conference. It isn't as easy of a conference as everyone thinks. Granted, still it isn't on par with the ACC, but it isn't a terrible basketball conference and Lillards abilities, achievements, and development should all highlight the positives of Weber State and the Big Sky in general.

By the way, I have the posters hangining in my house. I saw some of the originals at the stadium a couple of weeks ago. Now those posters are sweet.

Yes it pisses me off that Weber County disses the Big Sky

from a chad ford article about the combine

Weber State's Damian Lillard was the real star of the draft combine. He was the best player to agree to do the drills and it paid off for him. Many of the NBA executives in attendance had never seen him play in person before and the rest had only seen him only a handful of times. Lillard shot the lights out, had a couple of terrific dunks in the drills and 3-on-3 play, played hard and was very good in interviews with teams.

His measurements also turned out to be eerily similar to Derrick Rose. Rose measured 6-1 1/2 in socks and 6-2 1/2 in shoes in Chicago in 2008. Lillard was 6-1 3/4 in socks and 6-2 3/4 in shoes. Rose had a 6-8 wingspan, while Lillard had a 6-7 3/4 wingspan. Rose weighed 196 pounds, while Lillard weighed 188. Both players measured with a 40-inch max vertical. Given Lillard's rep as a scoring point guard, he's got to like the similarities.

I believe Lillard's range starts with the Blazers at No. 6. I doubt he slips past the Phoenix Suns at 13. He's got workouts in Toronto on Monday, as well as Sacramento and Phoenix this week.

Now that is just embarrassing. Real skill and athleticism should be based on things you can't control like how much money your parents make or the prestige or lack there of of what college you attended. Just ask Lance Allred.

How dare a player from a college on the bottom deck of the Titanic succeed with the top flight! :yikes:
