Damian talks about Weber in press conference

Basketball is how we came to know this young man, and we have come to love him. However, and I really believe this, If we had come to know him through some other means, we would still love him.

That is why I believe in scholarships for athletics, the arts, and accademics. We find these diamonds in the rough, and we help them to pollish themselves. In this way we all benefit from their talents and our society progresses in a positive and expedited way.

If you haven't before, please consider donating to your schools scholarship fund. If you are already donating, consider giving more. Become part of the solution. :thumb: :thumb:

Wow -- what a first-class young man. Very well spoken and respectful. Congrats to you Damian! WSU -- you've got some HUGE shoes to try to fill!!!!!!

Uh..."better known for Curling than basketball?" WTF?!? Okay, so the 2002 Olympic Curling venue shares a parking lot with the 12K seat Dee Events Center, one of the nicest facilities in the Mid-majors if not DI, where 19 Big Sky Championship Banners hang, home of the team with the 24th highest winning percentage in DI, that was ranked as being the 51st best program in DI by Smith and Street, so evidently Weber is a CURLING school. I'm glad and honored that Ogden and Weber State got the chance to host that Olympic event, but seriously?

Damian is an outstanding player and an even better person. However, I don't agree with those who are saying that there won't be another like him at WSU. There, absolutely, will be another lotery pick attending WSU in the future. It's really not a matter of if, but when. There are players out there right now, who are considering WSU, who are potential to 10 picks. It is just a matter of making the right decision, coming here, and then working hard to get to where they want to be as a player. It actually could be sooner than anyone thinks.

Damian may be the trail blazer, but the trail is well marked now for others to follow. NBA scouts know where WSU is located and good players can shine here. :thumb: :thumb:
