Davis, Big Sky Defense Player for 2008-09?

Davis has 12 blocks in 8 games so far. I believe he was 3rd in blocks last year behind Arturas and Scott Morrison.

He is on track for 45 blocks. Last year he had 34.

Can he get def player of the year without being a big rebounding guy?

Last year Scott Morrison was Def player of the year and his rebounding single game high was Arturas' rebounding average per game.

It almost seems like they just give out half the awards to the conference champ. Look at 2007, sorry to dis Patten but he was the Big Sky MVP and that was Rodney Stuckey's last year in college. Stuckey was a NBA 1st Rd draft pick. But Weber won the conf and EWU went 8-8.

I'm not saying Patten wasn' t deserving, but you do need to question everything the Big Sky does. After all this is the Big Sky.

Davis stats 2008 season:
30 games, 37 blocks, 26 dunks, 22 min ave
1.23 blocks pg, 0.86 dunks pg

Davis stats 2009 season:
After 16 games - 24 blocks, 10 dunks, 26.9 min ave
1.5 blocks pg, 0.63 dunks pg

Davis is sitting at 29 blocks with roughly 11-13 games left. Thats 1.53 bpg. So 1.53 x 32 total games would be 49 blocks which would be #4 all-time. But he did have 3 blocks against Sac so maybe he can get past Harold who by the way was what 6'8"...or if he woulda had a neck 7'! lol

WSU Single Season Blocks
1. Shaun Campbell 67 1984
2. Kirk Smith 57 1994
3. Harold Arceneaux 50 1999

How many did the General have? What is the Career record? I'm sure that D is pretty close to being at the top or near it after three years.
