Who is road trippin to this one. Tip Off is at 4! I think its going to be on the Mountain. Its too close not to go, if you can though...

I ran into Utah coach Jim Boylen at the Nike outlet store in Park City last summer. He seemed like a decent guy and talked to my brother and I for a few minutes, but I could see the fear in his eyes. He must have sensed we were Weber graduates/basektball fans. Weber will win this game. I saw it coming six months ago. Boylen was betrayed by cheap outlet prices for slightly damaged merchandise and his fear of purple Wildcats.

I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want to go to the game in SLC...
1. Its an Instate Game.
2. Its against Utah.
3. Its the closest road game of the entire season.
4. The weather is suppose to be good (did I mention its only 30min away).
5. the Red Iguana is in close proximity and is an excellent venue to visit once the game is over.
6. Probably the Most Important: The CATS are playing great right now.
7. Weber has a great chance of pulling an upset and breaking a seven season drought at the H Center.
8. Coach Rahe would expect it.
9. Do I need to remind anyone that this is an instate game.

Boylen on Weber:

"I'm really impressed with Weber on film," Boylen said. "They've improved in everything they do. They're better defensively and their running game is very good. Offensively, they have a great inside player in Panos and outside play with Hansen and McCoy. I like their team. They've improved across the board."

The difference in the game: TO's (17) and FT discrepancy (Utah 15-19; Weber 6-8). There were about four fouls in the last six minutes that should have been called on Utah, but weren't. three drives, Davis, Lillard, and McCoy that all should have shot FT's, but were, some how, deemed as missed shots. And then there were two offensive fouls that should have been called, one allowed Kepay to shot a wide open three, and another ended up giving Brown two FTs. No matter...Weber didn't take care of the ball in the second half. Weber makes a good run to take the lead, but couldn't hold onto the ball and gave Utah the opportunity to turn the momentum.... this game really frustrates me. Weber should have won!

Home game = home cooking from the refs. I thought we were playing great in the second half but the refs protected the Ute players on several drives. I also thought McCoy was driving to the hoop and trying to avoid contact. Last year he would to right into the chest of the defender, he tried to float away and his shot was rejected repeatly. 7'-2" beats 5'-6" 90% of the time.

I also thought the youth of the team showed up at the end of the game, it seemed like no one would take a shot, they were afraid to "lose" the game with a miss and were turning down open looks that eventually ended up as turnovers.

You bring up a great point, but I don't think it was the youth totally... I think the leadership that was driving the Cats disappered. There were a lot of TO's because of it to.
