Defensive Line for 2008

Thank goodness Spring football starts this week.

Our DL is a mystery to me. I have no idea how good or bad the DL will be this year. The defensive tackles, I guess, will likely be Amos, 6-1, 280 and Jason Jones, JC transfer, 6-2, 290, with Milbourn, 6-2, 290 and Tyler, 6-3, 265 in the rotation. Quincy Griffin's playing status remains unclear unless someone can provide the board with an update. Out of this group, I only feel comfortable with Amos. He did a good job in the rotation last season and I expect him to perform better this year. I am surprised that we did not bring in another one or two defensive tackles--maybe we tried and just did not get the job done.

We have some experience returning at DE with Livesay, 6-4, 245, Tuua, 6-3, 255, and Clark, 6-3, 230. My guess is Livesay will start as one DE and either Tuua, or Clark, or maybe Nailer, 6-2, 230 or Vaiomounga, 6-3, 250 the other side. I will go with Vaiomounga.

If there are some posters that can make me fell good about our defensive front four please speak up. The lack of depth and experience concerns me
