Once again I saw a great effort from the defensive line. The D-line is told a job and the linebacker gets the sack. Who gets the glory, “The linebacker”, the CB for an interception? How about how that happened, or how they got it, that’s never told. What happens when you dominate the line, you eliminate the run game, “Then the defensive backs can expect the pass and they can play a little bit looser, which gives them an advantage out there. It makes a lot of things easier on defense. Some athletes might be upset at not being asked for a quote after the game or at not seeing their names in lights after recording two more sacks or seven more tackles, but not these guys.
"[The lack of publicity] doesn't bother a defensive lineman The respect of the team in the locker room is more important... It wouldn’t hurt for someone in the stands to say great job o-line, that was awesome d-line because the newspapers have no respect for the either, because it’s not a glorified position.
Some guys get their name in the newspaper and the team knows they didn't do so well or didn’t deserve it. When was the last time you heard from the QB, RB, and Receiver mention in their interview “I couldn’t have done it without my line giving me time. Or a linebacker saying it was a team effort. (Rarely)"Respect is very important to these guys. We have a great defensive this year.
I personally made it my goal to say great job to all these guys. I wished I would have seen more people do the same, like two would have been nice. You don’t have to approach the QB, RB, or linebacker. Because you would have to stand in line. Yes the trenches is a lonely job, but damn it people, give a least a little thanks to the men up front. Remember,
“So go the trenches so go the game”
