I think we have an offensive minded conference, and a tough non-con opening slate. I would say we average 21 over the course of the season, with more points given up early in the season, and less later on. And I think we see at least one shut out this season.

I would hope so, but wouldn't bet on it. I can only recall two shutouts since I've been an EWU fan (14th season).

Numbers aside, I just want to see the defense force more punts and turnovers in the second half, specifically late in close games.... I hope Best's push to be more physical, and practicing in the heat of the day, will toughen everybody up an achieve this result.

I had to look up our shutouts because your comment left me intrigued. I thought there would be more than that, however, since our championship year we've had 2 shutouts (most recent was last season vs. Richmond). I'm a little surprised, but I dont think we've had quite the same style of physical defense since that year.

We improved a lot last year and showed maturity. I think our D will be more physical this year, and obviously incredibly experienced. I love the engagement that both Cherokee and Eti have with the players; chemistry is key. Hoping to see more turnovers this season!

Where are you seeing the 2nd since 2010? I was wrong, there have been 3 since I've been following in 2004:

2016: 38-0 vs Richmond
2009: 16-0 vs UNC
2006: 34-0 at UNC

We've come close twice: 20-3 at Idaho in 2012, and 54-3 vs UND in 2014...
