Per footballscoop.com:

Sacramento State: Special teams coordinator / receivers coach Daniel DaPrato has decided to step down to pursue other opportunities outside of football. Humboldt State offensive line coach Fred Kelley has been brought on staff to fill DaPrato's role.

IIRC, he interviewed with NMSU last month. Looks like he was intent on leaving the hornets.I have to wonder if there was any conflict b/t him and Sperbeck?

No brainer move on bringing Kelley back in. Should be as close to a seamless transition as one could hope for. Kelley is familiar with the program and some of the upper-class OL may still be familiar with him as well (I assume he will be the new OL coach).

Best of luck to DaPrato in whatever he decides to do. For the most part I like what he brought to the Hornets on the ST side of things; unfortunately some of his ideas didn’t work out the way he and everyone had hoped. With a dedicated OC and DC on the staff I assume Sperbeck will take over the ST duties. Sperbeck will have to find a Receivers coach though. Anyone with any guesses as to who may be targeted for this spot? Does Sperbeck take over that role as well?

It says Kelley will be the ST Coordinator. There is still another full time position open, I old assume there must be someone else already picked if Kelley is not coaching the O Line. ST and O Line usually don't go together. I would guess there is some other movement being Kelly has not coached WR

From the ticker:

Montana State: Sources tell me University of San Diego tight ends coach Ronnie Pentz and former Sacramento State wide receivers coach Daniel DePrato are in the mix for the tight ends / special teams coordinator job at Montana State.

Update from the ticker:

Montana State: Sources tell me former Sacramento State wide receivers coach Daniel DePrato will join the Montana State staff as tight ends / special teams coordinator.

The Hornet special teams shortcomings the past few years have been well documented on this board. DaPrato will do fine at MSU so long as he is kept on a short leash. Best of luck to him at his new position.
