DesNews inviting Twitter reactions

Not a Twitter guy, but I'm sure there are plenty here who have an account.

An article in the DesNews is asking for Twitter reactions about how important the CIT is for Weber this year. I'm sure many of you have something to say -- and among the reasons it's important is the state sport spotlight is actually shining on us for once.

i have come to the conclusion that any post season is better than no post season. while the cit is no ncaa tourney it doesn’t even matter once you know you aren't going to the big dance. people tend to let their pride get the best of them. why be too good for the nit, cit, cbi? some teams even turn down these post seasons.

it’s a big letdown if you don’t get the autobid to the ncaa since that is the entire year goal; it’s not to get a high seed in nit. but when you don’t make it well your season can be over or you can play in another tournament. why not keep playing? no one should ever be too good for a post season when the defending ncaa champion will accept a non-ncaa post season bid and travel in the first round.

griz having a very bad game and losing by 47 is a nonfactor to me. yes that would be rough to watch and it hurts the conf as that is our champion but so what. we still want to get to the big dance. it’s the goal of each season. it is the reason for the big sky tourney.

so if you end up in the other tournaments make the most of it, glass half full. teams who can play a non-ncaa post season should gratefully accept the bid. if not, why have the tournaments? if not, why have a team? how many seniors in America want to keep playing after championship week? are there really any who don’t? schools and teams and coaches owe it to the players to keep playing if they have the opportunity. playing basketball for the school is the reason the players are there. they weren't recruited for any other reason.

i have enjoyed the cit tournament, i enjoy seeing weber get W's. i hope they can keep it going. i hope this experience helps our team for the better heading into next season. i hope we can get to the big dance next year, i still wish we could have this year. i try and always be grateful for what i do have; someone always has it worse.

end of novel.

I couldn't have said it better. This CIT run has been great. The fans have been into it and the players have reacted in a very positive manor. It has really been a boost to our program because it is creating excitement at a time when other teams are licking their wounds and wondering how they can get to where we are.

I'm more committed to this program than ever!
