Did Sperbeck ever throw the discus or frisbee?

Just curious, because he spins a heckuva clipboard. After we failed on that last fourth down attempt, he spun his clipboard from midfield, down to about the 25 yards line. It was the finest toss I've ever seen a head coach make. Boy, he was really upset as we all were when White didn't get the snap off to catch the Weber team with 12 guys on the field and then we can't plow for a yard. Hammerheads, you've got to step up on those kinds of plays. I felt bad for Marshall and the team because we were on the brink of finally "finishing" a game and coming back like champions. I applaud the effort though and think we still have a terrific season ahead of us. We need to get Smith and Hilliard health asap! GO HORNETS!

I had to let the rest of the night and yesterday pass before commenting on the game. This one hurt. Really bad. But, like the team hopefully already has, have to get over it and move on to PSU. But not seeing a guy trying to run off the field (a DL who was lumbering and had to dive....hell he looked like a whale when diving) be either White or the center is inexcusable and Sperbeck, God bless him, I really felt for coach.

It was a great toss, did you see him snap the clipboard in half first though. Only the top half of the clipboard went flying, I dont blame the guy, it was actually very refreshing to see the emotion.

For those that were actually there: was there any chance that the center saw the Weber guy trying to "escape?" Typically, on offside plays, the center can and often will snap the ball before the QB is ready to catch the DL/LBers coming over. I'm just wondering if this may have been a similar situation. It may have been more difficult because usually the center is looking over the DL and making line calls, but you never know.

Neither White nor the center saw it (though everyone in the stands and the sidelines did).

You know they both heard about it later...so it shouldn't happen again. It is good to see Sperbeck's frustration because you know he cares. I am liking Sperbeck and these Killer Hornets more and more. All the losses have hurt; neither have been by much.
