Did this meeting ever happen?

In March, Paul and Jerry said that this off season they were going to examine everything surrounding Weber basketball and make adjustments where needed. They said the were going to invite boosters, fans and others to be part of the discussions. Did this ever happen? Just wondering if there is hope on the horizon. Meanwhile, the active members of the Wildcat Club are another year older. I wonder what the average age of the Wildcat Club member is?

If it did happen, it wasn't advertised in my circles. My guess is no, it didn't happen yet. It's almost too late for such a thing to have an impact on the upcoming season. They should be meeting now for a plan in the 2017/2018 season. Failure to plan is planning to fail. Talk is cheap, lets see some action. :wall:

No it hasn't...

What is worse, I heard that there were some meetings in June where the marketing guru stated that he hadn't started working on marketing for Fall 2016. YIKES!! What is Jerry thinking? Oh well...we bitch and moan year after year and nothing ever gets done. Did we really expect anything different this year? Seriously...to really believe that change would happen is foolish on our part. The stands will continue to be mostly empty and the Wildcat Club membership will continually be found under stone on the wrong side of the grass. Just Enough!! That is the motto...

My only beef with Jerry...other than that, I'm quite happy with his leadership.

What is it called when you do the same thing over and over again, and expect different results?

We have long standing issues with marketing. We need long term strategic planning to make the changes that we all want to see. At what point do we start the planning process? Do we wait for all of us oldtimers die off, and thing have gone completely to hell, or do we start to think about the next 40 years now?

These are somewhat rhetorical questions. We all know what has been going on over the past 20 years. We can probably expect more of the same. :wall:  :wtf:

I heard a phrase last week that made me chuckle. We are stuck in "Weberocrity". Compared to the rest of the Big Sky we have it pretty good, but we are capable of so much more. I believe that Jerry fosters this environment of "just enough" or "Weberocrity". Ten to twenty years from now we will be suffering because most of our big donors have died off and we haven't done anything to get new life blood and money into the program. How many big Wildcat Club donors will pass away before Randy's contract is up in 8 years.
