SEATTLE, WA (April 18, 2013) – DIRECTV Sports Networks today announced the telecast schedule for the upcoming 2013 Big Sky Conference football season with a total of 10 games to be televised on ROOT SPORTS. This will mark the second year of a multi-year partnership between DIRECTV Sports Networks and the Big Sky Conference.
All 10 Big Sky Conference football games will be produced and televised in high-definition, with many of the games available in both the Northwest and Rocky Mountain regions.
“We were extremely pleased with our inaugural season in 2012, not only in terms of the quality of the games, but also in our working relationships with the conference and its member schools,” said Patrick Crumb, President of DIRECTV Sports Networks. “We are looking forward to building on that success this year and continuing to increase the awareness of the great college football being played in the Big Sky Conference.”
The broadcast schedule will open with a special Thursday night match-up on September 26 when Portland State hosts Cal Poly, followed by nine Saturday games. The final games of the season will be the “Brawl of the Wild” between Montana and Montana State and the “Dam Cup” between Portland State and Eastern Washington.
“Our television partnership with ROOT SPORTS has helped develop the Big Sky Conference brand,’’ said Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton. “Our conference was thrilled with the first-class production of the games last season, and look forward to an excellent schedule this upcoming season. We believe the employees of ROOT SPORTS and DIRECTV Sports Networks are devoted to making the Big Sky broadcasts not just a game, but an event.’’
