The state board got its annual report from the state's four college athletic programs at their meeting last week. Here are some highlights:
--ISU's projected FY16 budget is a wash: revenues and expenses are expected to even out at just under $12.5 million. That means ISU will end the year with about $1.5 million in the bank.
--Declining enrollment means ISU's income from student fees will decline about 2.9 percent, to about $1.97 million.
--revenue from football ticket sales was about flat this year, at $177 K. Revenue from men's basketball ticket sales is down significantly, about 16 percent to $52,000.
--contributions to the athletic department are up significantly -- 77%, to $492,951.
--Football game guarantees were also up significantly, from $650 K last year to $915 K this year. ISU's biggest year for football guarantees was FY13, when the Bengal warriors brought home $970 k.
--women's basketball guarantees were up almost 24 percent, to $70 k, but ticket revenues are down 6 percent.
