Doubleheaders

Just saw on eGriz that for the last couple of years, they've scheduled the two hoops Griz-Cat matchups as doubleheaders, and it's apparently gone over VERY well.

Would anyone like to see that with Hoops Causeway? Especially after we get the always-in-the-future arena built?

If it saves money than sure. If athletic departments keep feeling the financial squeeze in the future, any chances of all BSC games being doubleheaders? This would allow both men’s and women’s teams to travel together and possibly save a few bucks. Any reason why this wouldn’t be considered by the BSC?

Normally, DH's done as a matter of course actually CUTS revenue because a) it eliminates BOTH facilities from being used on a given game day and b) usual policy is to let folk in for the girls game and let them stay for the boys' game as it's problematic to kick everyone out to charge them again. I think in the Montana situation it works because it's a special deal, which is why I suggested it for Causeway. It MIGHT work for rivalry games (for Sac that would mean the Manure Pile and POSSIBLY UOP, though I'm not exactly sure about the second), but as a matter of course, it would probably be a fiscal nightmare.

How are ticket prices when they do have a doubleheader? Do you just buy a women’s ticket and get to see both games? Or is the pricing changed such that it’s somewhere between a men’s and women’s ticket price and you get to see both? I would think a doubleheader would attract more people and depending on the ticket prices, it would result in slightly more revenue.
