I just saw on the CBS sports website that Duce Zaid is transferring. That means there is another scholarship available. I bet the coaches look for a D1 transfer to come in and sit out a year. Has anyone heard anything. Anyway, here is the link. Scroll down clear to the bottom. Its in alphabetic order.

Hmmmm interesting. Well thats a pretty good sign that an incoming freshman will be getting a lot of mins next year. Also, it could mean another scholarship is available for a good jc or possible trans. a spring signee of some sort

Could that Freshman be Jeremy Senglin? I also think that it is a good sign that we are using JC guys to fill out the end of the roster and our high school recruits are good enough to demand minutes early. Most mid major schools need JC guys to fill key roles.

I'll go out on a limb, right now, and say that Jeremy Senglin will most likely start. If he does not, he will certainly play a lot. He is that good.

Also, a name, to me, that really jumps off of that list is Juan Anderson leaving Marquette. He would make a great transfer, if we could get him. There are quite a few bigs on that list. Some of them may have potential in a purple jersey. :thumb:

Juan Anderson is 6-6 and is a tweener. I remember that Weber and State made runs at him. I'm not sure how he would fit into our rotation. Weber would have Hill and Williams but they both can play other positions. Anderson would be a solid addition though if he were coming in to be a 3. Would take Berrys spot. I can't find anything on his options.

I was aware of his not being exactly happy about his situation at Marquette. However, I didn't think he would transfer when he did not do so after his freshman year. If Juan does transfer in, he would sit out a year and have two years to play. He is definitely a wing player with a ton of athleticism. He would fit in nicely with how our team will be constructed over the next several years. :thumb:

Juan's high school highlights are very impressive. I love how he is a great passer too. I noticed he played on the same AAU team as Lillard. The Oakland Rebels. Someone should tell Damian to give him a call. :) Maybe Berry knows him too. I can see the 2014 season startling lineup now. Senglin, Wheelright, Anderson, Hill and Bolomboy. YIKES, that would be awesome to see.

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but you are posting like you know something. You do have some ins with the team and the coaching staff. Is this a done deal? Is this even realistic to be talking about?

After looking at Wazzu's predicted starting lineup for 2014 I dropped my mug at work. That is one of the scariest starting lineups in the history of the Big Sky Conference, if not the state. Look at what would be available on our bench too, and that is without this Falls recruiting class. Fuller, Williams, Gittens, Hajek, Van Pelt, and just for kicks Segora as a PG. Too bad Cannon will still have a year left of his mission.

It is purely speculation on my part. All I know is that our coaches had a good relationship with Juan in the process of recruiting him out of high school, and that our coaches have been following his progress. They were supportive of his going to Marquette and he has dropped a 'hello' to some of our players and coaches over the years. I know that he didn't get a lot of PT in his freshman year and that must not have changed this past year. Marquette has a ton of tallent. I know that the coaches have always advised any players that contact them, from other programs, to continue working hard to be successful, and that they are not allowed to talk to them unless they have been released from their LOI. Once a school has released a player, any school can talk to them. Juan has been released and can be recruited now. I have no idea if he has decided to transfer to WSU or anywhere else. I'm just saying that it would be great to get him. :thumb:

I read that Cal, Fresno St, and Saint Mary's are all courting Juan.

Juan has connections with Weber. Like Olds said, the coaching staff, but the more important one is Dame.

It is interesting that Duce left at the end of April. I'm thinking that the staff knew and already has a plan in place to use his scholarship. To me it would be best used toward a Trans. Not on another PG. Senglin will be playing a ton next year. That is the most evident aspect of Duce's transfer.

I wish him the best!!

You hit the nail right on the head Tal. If the coaches didn't already have someone in place, Duce would still be with us. I just don't know who it is, for sure, right now. Earlier in the season, I was told that they were bringing another guard in. That may have all changed. I'm just anxious to find out just what it is that they have done. It seems that Randy is often slow to get information out in the spring. This year it could have something to do with looking for assistant coaches at the same time that recruiting is wrapping up. I've been busy and haven't been able to get over there to find out what is going on. Maybe next week. :coffee:
