The Big Sky Conference released the projected standings for the conference this season. As usual it includes both the media and coaches poll. What are your thoughts? ;)

The thing that scares the hell out of me is that we struggle early on and come into conference play either beat up physically or without confidence.

Not sure what the year in year out love affair with MSU is. But maybe this will be the year they actually do something in the post-season.

I would expect there to be a LOT of motivational mileage in the #2 ranking.

First they need to get past Nov 9, 2013

The rankings actually seen pretty fair to me. MSU returns an All-American 4 year starter at QB(MGhee), an great RB(Kirk), and a solid WR(Bleskin), not to mention a fairly solid O Line, but not great. Got an all American DE, plus a few in the secondary to bolster the ranking. EWU lost 5 to NFL Free Agency, QB, 3 WR's and a huge right tackle. So this was expected from me. The good thing about EWU this year is we are 10 deep on the O line if injuries come into play, I hope NOT! All MSU saw from Vernon Adams last year in their house was a medicore performance, so maybe that will be an edge to EWU. Although, they will have film of his game vs. Sam Houston ST. The great thing is we have MSU at OUR house this year, possibly for the conference championship. Everyone better be there to yell there ASS of! We have a tough schedule to start out, but this team, when healthy will compete with ANYONE. GO EAGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To me, this will be a big test as to where our fan base is at!! The weather is likely to be chilly, if not cold, and probably windy and wet. It will be real football weather, but we all know how our fans do in the cold!! If we can't pack Roos full for what is likely to be a huge game on Root Sports, the Gateway Project takes a huge hit, IMHO. I'm so pumped for this game and this season!! :D

The Cougars have a bye on November 9. Might we get a bump in attendance from the Cougar fans. Has the University advertised aggressively for big games in the past? I think there are a lot of Spokane fans that will go see the Eags as long as they can't get to the Cougar away games. Maybe more aggressive advertising will help.

For what it's worth, at the WSU game last year my wife and I were in a section surrounded by Cougar fans and I was screaming my ass off the entire game. Believe me, there were a lot of nervous fans in that section as the game progressed and after the game I had several people comment how much respect they had for the Eags.

That's good that WSU has a bye that week, hopefully that may help a bit. MSU usually brings quite a few fans as well, and they'll probably fill the visiting bleachers. It would be really nice to have 9-10k in the stands for this game!

The University has done a better job since the National Title of advertising for the program in general, but I haven't really noticed them advertising hard for particular games, maybe someone else has noticed. I think even though EWU Athletics has picked up advertising quite a bit the last 2-3 years, more can be done!
