Eags add 6'5" Julian Harrell

Looks like Harrell started out at Penn (2013-14). He averaged almost 15 points and 5 rebounds last year for City College of San Francisco. Hayford says he's an, "explosive offensive player" that can play multiple positions. I love that he's 6'5" and 195 lbs and versatile.

Here's a bit to add off Penn site. Looks like an all around good player that can do it all on both sides of the ball. Like he plays guard at 6'5! http://www.pennathletics.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=1700&ATCLID=205687913" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ya, that's a big deal for the eags. We lost Harvey and Brandon who were both 6'4" so this is a huge get for us. Von Hofe is 6'5" and Sir Washington is 6'3" so we will once again have good size at guard. Also, we need cerebral players and Hayford says the guy wants to "understand" the game and be "mentally" prepared. Those are characteristics that not every recruit brings to the table. Just the fact that Harrell was accepted to Penn (Ivy League) tells you how smart the dude is. If he is a true student of the game and explosive on offense, he could become great in the Big Sky. He had 1,152 points at Loyola High School which says a lot. Some good players have come out of that school and that league. I played in some tourneys down there when I was in high school and there was very solid competition. He will also give us some much needed experience in the backcourt right away which will be huge for us when you consider how young we are going to be.

I think we just got better. Found some highlights of this kid. The third video is from 2010/11 which I believe was his junior year in high school. I would have to imagine he's gotten even better and stronger since then but I haven't seen any college highlights yet so we'll have to see. Anyways, looks like he has pretty legit athleticism. I love his ability to get to the rim, leap, and flat out score. Seems like a great kid too.

They currently have 16 players listed on their roster. My understanding was only two of those 16 we're walk on players (Benzel and Gibb) which means they currently have 14 scholarship players or another player on the roster is walking on instead of being a scholarship player. Anybody have any insight on this?

Hayford seems to be assembling quite a bit of talent. How long will it take for them to start playing together as a team?

I have been wondering the same thing myself.
