Early Optimism

With 45 days until the first game, I can't help but be VERY optimistic about the direction of this program. I love the new coaching staff, I love that they are bringing in D1 transfers again, and I love that all playing time will be earned. I also love the fact that this years schedule actually has winnable games in it in theory. Teams such as ISU, SFA, PSU, U of North Dakota, and the UNC bears should all be viewed as winnable games. I'm not saying they will win them all but at least they should have a chance in these games.
Also the new restrooms on the Eastside is a nice touch.
It's a great time to be a Wildcat even though the first 2 games will be BRUTAL.
GO WILDCATS!!!

I must agree Waterboy, I am also very excited to see what Coach Hill can do for our program, I just want this team to be competetive again and be in the hunt for conference titles again. Every game except maybe the ASU game is winnable this year, after ASU it is all FCS vs FCS.

And yes the yearly improvements to Stewart Stadium are also a major plus, I love it, I can tell Weber is doing everything they can to get make Weber State football an event and make it a successful program year in and year out. Anything is possible.

GO WILDCATS

Weber is in a much better position than they were last year. A favorable schedule, good coaching staff, and better all-around discipline. But, success starts in the trenches. I think the Cats have a solid OL returning. Losing Robinson is still a head scratcher, but I'm thinking that the OL will still be strong with Hawkins, Young, Land, Turner, and Wilcox/Cisneros. And the rest of the offense is solid. Kehano and Livingston at WR, Karl Finai at FB, Bo at RB, and Kahawaii at TE. Weber needs a good QB to bring everything together.

I'm excited to see Riley Bradshaw and Billy Green compete against Jadrian Clark for the starting QB spot. I'm sure Green will have the advantage to start camp, but the starting QB position is up for grabs.

Success breeds success and I have a feeling Coach Hill and Co. are about to start changing the tide. I haven't been this excited for football to start in a long while and I fully expect Weber to take its lumps again this season. Are you ready for some football?
